I'm always looking for somewhere new to visit and I wondered what other Mumsnetter's favourite places to visit are?

TIA

Gosh seriously Bristol! I live in the suburbs and never visit the City. It is minging, a ghost town of boarded up shops and famous for its graffiti mostly inspired by Banksy 😞

Riverlee · 15/06/2023 19:35

Oxford - surprised me recently and had a great weekend there.

Also votes for York, Edinburgh and Whistable.

Maireas · 15/06/2023 19:36

Why Coventry?
Why Sheffield?
Not being mean, genuinely wondering about attractions.

@Abracadabra12345

I love the diversity, the cathedral, the old historical nuts and crannies…. The lil peeping Tom that comes out looking at Lady Godiva. Love the Herbert art gallery and transport museum….I dunno… I just like Cov! 😂 It feels like a raw place. I admit, not very mumsnet, but 10 miles down the road is Warwick I guess and 15 Stratford upon Avon for a naicer vibe 😜.

grimmers44 · 15/06/2023 19:39

I'm surprised at people saying Warwick...apart from the Castle the town is a bit crap I thought (have been twice for work)

Bamboozles · 15/06/2023 19:42

Bath is beautiful 😍

Raeven · 15/06/2023 19:43

Norwich (closest city to where I grew up) hope to return to visit soon.

Glasgow (closest city to where I lived for 15 years) great place to visit.

Edinburgh close to where I live now. Great place to visit but I have to admit I prefer Glasgow if I had to choose.

SparklingMarkling · 15/06/2023 19:45

@grimmers44

Ive worked all over the midlands. I agree. Warwick town is very bland, very white and very meh.

Raera · 15/06/2023 19:57

My faves: Liverpool and Aberdeen

Want to go to: Chester, Cirencester

Small town curveball: Rochester. Went there just for family history reasons but was surprised to love it. Cute and full of history.

I’m really not a city person or even a town person and have been to many mentioned above but Glasgow is different. I wouldn’t live there but there’s something about it I can’t help but like.
