Let me clear that up for you. I don’t recall saying (let alone demanding) that they had to dedicate their lives to “doing good”. It’s undeniable though that they could use their considerable platform for so much more than vanity projects and the world would be a better place if they did.

Secondly, as it happens I do pitch in. I work in a thankless public sector job, I volunteer and I regularly give to charity. I am also heavily involved in support for Ukraine. So please, move the focus from my contribution and turn it back into the thread itself.

Your original post says what good they could have done if they didn’t court the paparazzi and make sandwiches. But they’ve no obligation to ‘do good’. They can do with their lives as they see fit and if they’re happy making sandwiches on Instagram then they’re happy and it’s not your place to suggest they should not do what fulfills them and instead ‘do good’ (whatever that even means).

@AisforAdder why don’t you go and sit yourself down and have a nice cold drink? You clearly didn’t read my first post properly, as you managed to insert some comments about things that I didn’t say. I am not the only poster who has made this observation either, so take it elsewhere.

If being patronising is all you can do, maybe an online discussion forum isn’t the right place for you. This is a discussion, a debate. You made a public comment criticising two people, I have a differing opinion. Oddly, that’s the point of such a forum. Trying to speak down to me doesn’t make you look above me or smart, it just makes it look as though your comments have no substance.

But if it’s too much for you to discuss differing opinions to your own then that’s fine, I’ll leave it.

But I stand by my point.

The sight of her in her undies (essentially) with her husband fully dressed says it all. Why in 2023 is it acceptable or expected that a woman should dress like that for us all to say how amazing she looks. No she doesn't. She looks like a stripper or something out of a window in Amsterdam.

Completely agree

Greenshake · 10/06/2023 20:39

@AisforAdder you started this, so really, you are reaping what you have sewn. The irony of your comment about “discussing differing opinions” - perhaps you should reflect on that before you have a pop at someone and kick it off. Have a great evening.

I didn’t ‘start’ anything, I said I didn’t understand that narrative? How am I ‘reaping what I’ve sewn’ 😂 I said I didn’t understand the idea they have an obligation to ‘do good’ and they can do what makes them happy.

It’s really not that deep.

DyslexicPoster · 10/06/2023 20:46

She is stunning. I wonder if she does feel the pressure to be very slim. That's one thin mil

Greenshake · 10/06/2023 20:47

@AisforAdder then you went on to just invent things that you thought I had said. I highlighted that - and you didn’t like it. Anyway, I have no intention of derailing the OP’s thread anymore, so again, have a good evening

That is a big part of the problem for me. I think it's highly unlikely she'll eat much of anything at all, because the 'outfit' wouldn't be getting such praise with a bit of pasta bloat. Another example of women's 'clothing' (and I use the term very loosely here) treating women as objects with one purpose - looking pretty - and foregoing all practicality. It makes women uncomfortable. It starts in primary school, with girls wearing little dresses and t bar shoes and not able to jump in puddles (wet feet) or do gymnastics (show their knickers) or play football (legs get cut, tights get ripped) while boys wear hard wearing leather closed foot shoes and trousers with reinforced knees. And it ends up here, male press salivating over an almost naked woman going out to a restaurant in a dress that basically ensures she'll leave it as hungry as she went in.

Absolutely perfectly put!

Didn’t like what? The irony! Stop putting words in my mouth, I didn’t dislike anything, you responded, I responded.

And stop with the patronising ‘have a good evening’ crap, everyone on here knows what that means 🙄

Greenshake · 10/06/2023 20:58

@AisforAdder it means have a good evening, no more or less. I bear you no ill will, you are some random poster on the Internet.

It’s really not that deep.

Okay, love. Next time someone dares to disagree with you on a forum for debate, maybe try something other than being patronising. It doesn’t make you look big or smart, it makes you look petty. So I’ll sink to your level for my last message.

Have a good evening!

LlynTegid · 10/06/2023 21:07

@GloomySkies well said.

Berlinlover · 10/06/2023 21:09

I think she looks amazing, I wore very revealing clothes in my twenties too. Now I’m 46 with a fibroid belly 😭

Absolutely well put. Let's not be under the impression that women are free to do what they want ih this society. That outfit was designed purely for the male gaze and nothing else.

Mummyoflittledragon · 10/06/2023 21:24

I wonder how well it would be received if it were Brooklyn wearing that outfit in some skimpy underwear accompanied by his fully dressed wife. I think diners would object and the objection upheld. So why not the reverse?

Aslanplustwo · 10/06/2023 21:31

Greenshake · 10/06/2023 17:04

Give over, nobody is “policing” anything. She has worn that outfit with the sole intent of garnering attention.

I agree. No-one wears an outfit like that because they've looked in their wardrobe and think it's the nicest thing they own. She just looks ridiculous.

JandalsAlways · 10/06/2023 21:34

Well at least she wore underwear
