Plus sized summer clothes

Can any plus sized women please let me know what you are wearing now the weather is getting warmer? I'm stuck in my jeans with a baggy T-shirt and I'm bored and sweaty 🥵

Please don't answer telling me I can wear what I like, I know that but I don't want to go out in cycling shorts with my fat arse and fat knees on display! I want to look casual and nice and not be boiling and self conscious.

I work from home and do the school run twice a day so just casual stuff and I'm a size 18 on the bottom and 20 on top.

So fed up of wearing jeans and everyone asking me if I'm hot!

Help!

I'm bigger than you (sz 22) & I still wear jeans, but lots of other things too.
Maxi dresses with chub rub shorts
shorter dresses with cropped leggings or chub rub/cycling shorts
Cropped wide leg jeans
Jean shorts (Bermuda & shirt shorts)

I'd like to try palazzo pants but not seen any I like in breathable fabrics - I avoid polyester like the plague!

Midi dresses with chub rub shorts or snag footless tights.
Loose harem trousers with vest top or t-shirt.
Love my new Alexa trousers from Lucy and Yak too.

I intend to spend the summer in chub rubs, bralets and floaty midi dresses in cotton, viscose or linen.

Beautiful dresses and chub rub shorts OP!

MeinKraft · 12/06/2023 20:53

I've got this in multiple colours and refuse to wear anything else. Fuck trousers on those hot days.

SmurfetteSalad · 12/06/2023 20:55

Don't get the chub rubs from Snag OP get cotton ones from amazon. Much cheaper and cooler!

YourBonesAreWet · 12/06/2023 21:23

I live in Lucy and Yak Alexas (I have 7 pairs!) and a tshirt if I'm at home or just going to the shop. Otherwise I wear a midi/long dress with shorts underneath.

MrsMiddleMother · 12/06/2023 23:27

Same size as you but reverse, 20 on bottom 18 top. In summer I live in cycling shorts either with baggy tops or dresses (chub rub). Today I wore a cropped jumpsuit. I decided I'd rather feel a bit uncomfortable having my arms or legs out than be uncomfortable from the heat.

I always found tea dresses to be really flattering on a curvier figure. I liked them when I was post partum as they gave me coverage on my upper arms, but were flattering around the bust with them having a v neck cut, nipped in around my waist but then the fabric was loose and flowy and draped over my stomach rather than clinging to it. Even from the side it didn’t cling to anything so it made me feel more confident.

I also liked a midi skirt I had with a t shirt as it made me feel more put together but was super flowy and airy on a hot day. Again, not clingy- just skimmed over everything.

I wore both with chunky sandals then had a jacket I could chuck on over the top (denim jacket usually).

I like Monsoon loose floaty tops and some thin cotton trousers.Often reduced or on EBay .I have a couple of dresses but dont find them comfortable for all day .OK for a coffee or lunch maybe .I am short and square built!

Where do the pockets sit on you with this one? I just bought the leopard print one, but the pockets stick out and sit just on my hips and make them look about 5 foot wider. Not sure if it's worth trying a different size or if they all sit like that

Loose trousers from next.

MeinKraft · 13/06/2023 21:33

@Bogggle they sit quite low on my hips because I'm 5 ft 2 so a midi is more of a maxi on me
