Air up bottles... are they any good?

My children have come in very excited about these new bottles that you drink water but it has a 'ring' with flavour that you can choose and basically you are drinking the water but the smell tricks you into thinking it tastes of the flavoured ring that you have chosen. I'm not convinced how it could work personally but I'll ask you lovely lot for some reviews 😀

DD2 has had one for a good while now (thanks to a fabulous MNetter) and she loves it. She swears it works and all her friends now have them too. The rings don't need replacing all that often. Whatever, I just let her get on with it. She loves it and she drinks lots of water which she didn't before so 🤷🏼‍♀️

How old are your children that they have only just discovered them?! My DD is getting one for her 10th birthday next week, after relentlessly asking since most her class seemed to get one for Christmas. I was reluctant initially as she is a great water drinker who usually choses tap water over squash, and I'd heard about mold issues. But I'm convinced now it wasn't just a passing request, and don't mind for a birthday/Christmas. I wouldn't just spend that much on a new school year water bottle though. Especially X2.
