A less than £20 pick me up (lighthearted)

Okay, fed up of saving and worrying about money. I'm going to blow £20 on myself.

If you had £20 to treat yourself what would you buy?

I'm thinking Aldi caviar face cream, bottle of Cote de Provence and some flowers. Anybody do better than this...

A good pillow so I can sleep better night after night

It’s lighthearted 😀😀

for me please - a nice bottle of red wine and a few luxury nibbles from M and S

littleblackcat27 · 08/06/2023 17:44

I might share said wine/nibbles with a friend

anon2022anon · 08/06/2023 17:46

£20 will get me a book from the supermarket, and a sandwich, tea and cake in a cafe.

Muddlingthroughthissocalledlife · 08/06/2023 17:47

No, I don't think so. 🤔 but who knows what is going to happen to inflation. I have spent my rainy day savings so far plugging gaps with the COL crisis. I'm hoping we are through the worst of it and we've now cut our cloth to make our monthly ends meet. I've cut back on everything, but it gets to the point where you need to treat yourself.

I'd let myself go wild in the pound shop

Muddlingthroughthissocalledlife · 08/06/2023 17:48

These answers are making me smile.

Bubble bath, nail polish and some nice tea, maybe a cake (from B&m )

Nutsabouttopic · 08/06/2023 17:55

A trip to the cinema with popcorn. I bring my own water. And a bag of chips on the way home

Olivia199 · 08/06/2023 18:58

My favourite meats and cheeses, a bit old French stick and a bottle of wine! (And whatever chocolate I can afford with the change!)

Mummy08m · 08/06/2023 19:02

Get a really nice hand cream, then you can smell it all day long.

Or a nice bottle of olive oil and a loaf of bakery bread you can dip the bread in the oil and it's a snack fit for a queen

Actually for £20 you could maybe do both!

Mummy08m · 08/06/2023 19:04

(I just received a fancy bottle of olive oil for my birthday from my aunt in law because all my in laws know I like it. I'm genuinely so chuffed and can't wait to dip some nice bread in it)

getafringenotbotox · 08/06/2023 19:05

Your first suggestion is perfect but I'd nip in m and s and see what the yellow stickers are it's about that time Grin

FerretFarm · 08/06/2023 19:07

Chinese takeaway or pizza
M&S cakes and treats
make up or skincare item

Angelofthenortheast · 08/06/2023 19:08

Craft project! I just bought a pointless little soap making kit for this very reason

HerNameIsIncontinentiaButtocks · 08/06/2023 19:27

Aldi caviar face cream misread that as "Aldi caviar ice cream"...

I'd go out for coffee and cake with a friend, I think.

JennyForeigner · 08/06/2023 19:31

A bottle of wine. Actually four bottles of wine, and then I'd open one every Friday for a month.

Failing that a cinema ticket and popcorn sounds chefs kiss

myusernamewastakenbyme · 08/06/2023 19:43

A bottle of gin and a small houseplant🪴

Applecoresweet · 08/06/2023 20:01

A Chinese and a bottle of wine.

A swim in the pool followed by cake and coffee in a cafe.

A ticket to Kew gardens for a lovely day by myself.

lucysmam · 09/06/2023 21:31

I'd like to try loose leaf tea, in my new pot. So probably some of that, and a tea strainer that hasn't seen better days.

As it is, I'm currently undergoing chemo & dd1's favourite artist is Taylor Swift. She told me last night (my hair started coming out quite quickly in the shower) that I should channel my inner T.S. in the Wildest Dreams video, so I am about to check out a "selection pack" of red lippys from the Revolution make up website for a tenner.

BeyondMyWits · 09/06/2023 21:33

Cake... much cake.

Daffodilwoman · 09/06/2023 21:35

I’d buy a luxury lipstick.

Imanidiotiknow2 · 09/06/2023 21:58

@lucysmam really sorry to hear what you’re going through you sound really brave.

for me it would be a nice candle a book and maybe some chocs of change left over

NorthWestThree · 09/06/2023 22:03

I want some Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. It's a fairly expensive moisturiser which smells divine and is AMAZING for skin. I got a sample size from a beauty box and it's run out and I'm desperate to buy more... So that's what my £20 would go on
