A less than £20 pick me up (lighthearted)

Okay, fed up of saving and worrying about money. I'm going to blow £20 on myself.

If you had £20 to treat yourself what would you buy?

I'm thinking Aldi caviar face cream, bottle of Cote de Provence and some flowers. Anybody do better than this...

So sorry you're going through that @lucysmam . I recognise your name from way back. I hope you and your Dd enjoy the lippy and you're better soon.

For my £20 I'd like a galaxy ripple, a bottle of aldi pinot, a bag of hula hoops and a root through the charity shop with the remaining £10.

Some cherries and strawberries, a really lovely liquid hand soap and a posh bottle of cordial.

Thesunwillcomeoutverysoon · 09/06/2023 22:12

Duck pancakes from Tesco and some cheese and crackers.

7eleven · 09/06/2023 22:33

I’d buy a pair of silver earrings

I want some Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. It's a fairly expensive moisturiser which smells divine and is AMAZING for skin. I got a sample size from a beauty box and it's run out and I'm desperate to buy more... So that's what my £20 would go on

Coconut or cocoa butter?

determinedtomakethiswork · 09/06/2023 22:41

@lucysmam I really really hope that your treatment goes well. 💐

Trumpton · 09/06/2023 22:44

Ah @lucysmam I am sorry to hear that you are having chemo and your hair is going. I had chemo 3 years ago and my hair grew back curly!
I had visions of silver and svelt but my hair knew me better! Sending you very best wishes ( I remember you from the Christmas threads)
Anyway £20 will buy me a ticket to “One man, two guv’nors” at our wonderful theatre so that’s me sorted.

A new lipstick (nyx or similar), a book and some pick n mix.

DinosaurOfFire · 09/06/2023 22:58

I would go to waterstones, and choose a nice book, possibly the book of the month so I had a free coffee, then go to their cafe and read while drinking said coffee and buying a cake to eat there too. Then with the money I had leftover (books of the month seem to be less than £10, cake is about £3) I would go to maybe boots and buy a nail polish or two (I like rimmel which is often 2 for £7) and some nice moisturiser (by 'nice' I mean a basic one like nivea but which feels nice).

Groutyonehereagain · 09/06/2023 23:00

I’ve just eaten a £2 block of Cadburys chocolate. It definitely hit the spot.

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 09/06/2023 23:05

Tickets for a friend and I to a National Garden Scheme open garden, that will be around £14-15 which leaves £5-6 for tea and cake. Which means we will probably have to share a slice of cake between us, but the portions tend to be good (and cheap) at these events.

Mossstitch · 09/06/2023 23:06

I've literally just done this (well £21 after long day at work click and collect at local shop so I don't have to drive anywhere over weekend) )although not sure anybody would want my suggestions😂new doormat, wooden soap holder that actually allows water to drain through it rather than soap sitting in a puddle getting soggy and a gino ginelli cake baking tin as the bread one I bought a while ago really works and is non-stick.............bit of retail therapy always a pick me up

ABugWife · 09/06/2023 23:16

Bubble bath, a book and some chocolates, maybe even a smelly candle too.

Lock the door and soak away your cares.

Damn look fantastic box has got me craving a big pot of this too!

Treasureboxkey · 09/06/2023 23:25

£7 on a bottle of wine
£1 on a bad of crisps or popcorn
£13 to go wild in the charity shops.

Welliehead · 09/06/2023 23:31

Funnily enough I realised I had 20 in cash in my purse today. I bought a book, a bottle of wine and a small bar of dairy milk 🙂

I'm hoping for a pot for my birthday 😀

BanditsOnTheHorizon · 10/06/2023 07:30

I'd go wild in M&S food hall

ABugWife · 10/06/2023 07:54

@NorthWestThree I have already missed my birthday but it's on my Christmas list. I am very tempted to just treat myself anyway. It's amazing.
