Can you let me know your hidden gems? Happy to travel wherever in the UK and extra points if they have a sandy beach!

Gorleston on Sea in Norfolk. Voted best British beach on Tripadvisor recently. Beautiful wide sandy beach and decent amount of facilities without being overdeveloped. Cliffe Hotel and Jay Jay's cafe are nice, there are beach huts, a splash pad and old fashioned prom to walk along. It was the location for the film Yesterday.

The town itself isn't up to much though so don't factor in a visit!

Joss Bay, Kingsgate Bay or Botany Bay in Broadstairs.

Botany Bay can get ridiculously busy on hot days, but the other two are much quieter. This is Kingsgate Bay:

Earnse Bay Walney near Barrow in Furness Cumbria is a beautiful beach and South Walney nature reserve has lovey sea views and both are very unspoilt and virtually deserted whenever I visit.

Don't forget the art festival held there every year. Think it's mid September this year.

^That was meant for the Staithes comments!

We love Aberporth, its a village rather than a town though.

We had a holiday along the Banffshire coast last summer and it was idyllic. Beautiful beaches, super walks and wonderful little towns to explore. We stayed just outside Penan.
