What random/less obvious things do you find attractive in someone?

I don’t mean weird stuff; I just mean little things that make you notice someone you might not have noticed before in a “ooh, that’s hot!” kind of way.

Talking with a friend earlier about this - hers was someone being able to speak another language fluently, mine was someone who has a hidden talent they are modest/low key about (bonus points if it’s playing a musical instrument!)

I like a man with good manners too. Someone who doesn’t mind taking charge
in a slightly awkward social situation but not in an overbearing way.

I was at a barbecue recently where the hostess was getting in a flap bc everyone was standing around talking with drinks in their hands while the food she had lovingly prepared was getting cold. No one wanted to be the first to break cover and dive in.

One of the blokes I was talking to had noticed and without being asked went and took a plate and stated serving himself and he started offering the food to others and complimenting the food, so everyone quickly followed suit. It was the way he did it that was attractive though; first that he read the room in an intelligent way and second that he acted immediately but in a confident but non-showy way.

i LOVE a small gap in between front teeth or some 'imperfection'. Like Keith Duffy had with his chipped front tooth before he had a Turkey teeth makeover

The problem is @onefinemess, one of our very senior staff members is always nice like this to me (a min wage staff member) and even friended me on Facebook so unfortunately I couldn't help but fall for him!!

He's so good looking but so genuinely lovely too! I get the butterflies every time he says hello or makes conversation, it's pathetic as he's really out of my league!

BBYBjorn · 07/06/2023 18:42

Definitely the arm on headrest reversing, bonus points for rolled up sleeves.

I wouldn't call this less obvious, it's in the top three answers every time. Forearms and reversing. Every time....

VikingLady · 07/06/2023 18:45

@onefinemess love calling it "oblivious kindness". Yes, definitely.

I have quite a competence kink for anything I can't do, like playing musical instruments, fixing computers, or woodwork type stuff.

Liking cats and not being embarrassed about it.

Them being openly happy to see me and making a fuss about it.

RichardsGear · 07/06/2023 18:47

Being good at pool!

ProudThrilledHappy · 07/06/2023 18:50

Slightly imperfect teeth, like one a bit crooked or a bit of a chip. No idea why.

Also when they are polite to waiters and shop staff

Blip · 07/06/2023 18:52

Making Xmas dinner

OwlBeGone · 07/06/2023 18:56

Just checking in for the ubiquitous "rolled up sleeves and forearms" posts. It can't REALLY be described as less obvious as these kind of threads are always littered with it as an example!

Castleintheclouds · 07/06/2023 19:13

A deep voice and twinkly amused eyes BlushGrin

SummerSimmer · 07/06/2023 19:15

Really posh men, I’ve never dated one but I often find myself fancying them.

BeverlyHa · 07/06/2023 19:17

Charisma, pouring through the eyes. He might be not even on anyone else's radar , be short, think, not that muscular, or the opposite, too large. If those eyes have this charisma i speak of, that's it.

DeflatedAgain · 07/06/2023 19:21

My DH takes his hat off whenever he walks inside and has the manners of a saint. I love how kind he is.

SaveMeFromForearms · 07/06/2023 19:31

When he has skills and interests, like playing an instrument or, I don't know, history, photography, whatever. Something I can learn about from them, that are different interests to mine.

Giselletheunicorn · 07/06/2023 19:38

Integrity is the sexiest thing ever. Someone who is honest, takes responsibility for their actions and has a strong moral compass...

Also the ability to play an instrument, sing or dance - like properly. (Not drunken stumbling and singing Wonderwall off-key in the bar.)

Nice shoulders and forearms.
I find rolled-up shirtsleeves very erotic, but not short sleeves.

Yes, rolled up shirt sleeves Smile

Marlaysydney12 · 07/06/2023 19:39

Regional accents, in particular Yorkshire, any type of Scottish, Northern Irish, Irish, Welsh. The thicker the better.

Giselletheunicorn · 07/06/2023 19:41

Also totally on board with the rolled up sleeves/forearms thing! 😁

Oh yes. I have such a weakness for Scottish men!

No one is too good for you, don’t put yourself down. Go after him if you are really interested and both free.

Mummadeze · 07/06/2023 20:24

Freckles. I seem to fancy every man with freckles I have ever seen more or less. No idea why.

BearSoFair · 07/06/2023 20:34

Repeating multiple posters but definitely yes to kindness to animals. We had a v elderly cat and if DH saw her on the stairs he'd always gently scoop her up saying something like "oh, miss Daisy, a lady as fine as you deserves to rest her legs!" and carry her the rest of the way up or down even if it was the opposite to where he was heading. Made my heart melt every single time.

FullOfBiscuit · 07/06/2023 20:36

Other time was a an old boyfriend of mine, he fell over and twisted his ankle while we were walking along the pavement. The reason? He was trying not to step on a ladybird he just spotted on the ground as we were walking along

^This kind of thing. I would've married him there and then 😍

I adore men who are good with young children. Also men who can parallel park well. And men who have the ability to have a reflective conversation. And men who are aware of and interested in current events.
