I wasn't supposed to be up this early but what the heck.

I haven't RTFT because it's twenty odd pages long, but the BBC headline is that PS believes homophobia is fuelling the affair coverage. My take on things is that it's not homophobia at all, it's the fact that Schofield lived a lie for many years by being married to a woman before coming out as gay and then, having been largely accepted after coming out, has been found to have lied again to his employer and his purported best friend. That plus the questionable relationship with someone so much you get who he has possibly groomed.

Strikes me that many people who work with him/have worked with him dislike him personally for various reasons not related to him being gay and feel he's got his comeuppance.

Every time PS appears on my screen I'm now going to shout "God, no!"

This thread is horrible. I can't stand Phillip Schofield but what is it you want? He's lost face, he's lost his job, he's lost friends. Isn't that enough?

I noticed that - wide eyes, shocked expression "no, god no!" every time.

he appeared in two separate interviews today, he just can't help himself. If he actually went away with all his money and led a nice life away from his massive platform he admits he misused, there wouldn't be so much focus on him.

The two things that make me pig sick about him is that he is showing far more concern for his ex lover than his wife and him saying he has lost everything. He still has his kids and shit loads of money. How dare he say he has lost everything when his kids are rallying around him?

TM is mawkish drivel and PS has given me the heebie jeebies for years. I have no time for him but he has been built up so much by the TV channel that his fall is from far higher than it should be for a talentless no mark like him.

I did see the interview on BBC Breakfast. Desperate to maintain his earnings more like. I’ve never liked the bloke, have never watched This Morning since the days of Richard and Judy and just see the whole thing as an attempt at keeping money grabbing without there being a shred of real talent amongst the lot of them.

I thought this.. his wife being cheated on is bad enough but cheated on in this way is even worse and then on top of all that she’s got to be publicly humiliated every time he releases another statement or goes on an interview like this to give further details of what he did behind her back. His poor daughters too. I’ve been thinking all day how selfish it is to claim your kids are the ones stopping you from killing yourself.. as if the responsibility is on them so if he were to do it now they’d forever feel ridiculously guilty that they weren’t able to stop him. No parent should ever say that sort of thing 🤦🏼‍♀️ or say it to a GP or mental health specialist, not the nation to try and gain sympathy and threaten people

Yes, so arrogant. Some people really have lost everything! Homes, loved ones, health. He has lost a telly career all of his own making. I'm sure he can have a lovely retirement pottering and lunching with any loyal friends he has.

Option A: PS will gain sympathy and people will back off because of his homophobic claims and Caroline Flack comment

Option B: People will see it as PS playing the victim and making it 'all about him' (EH narcissist theory)

I loathe PS more than ever, having seen just the start of this 'interview'.

I hope that young man at the centre of this, and any other young men in similar situations at ITV, are OK. I hope any young women impacted are OK. I hope the investigation(s) are robust and thorough because this is not all right.

New angle to this thread- mnetters are now offering their opinions on whether his daughters should be supporting their father. Where did it say that he hadn’t been a good dad? Shouldn’t that be for his daughters to decide and absolutely nothing to do with anyone outside the family?

Ok he's done 2 interviews and put out a statement. For someone who wants the criticism to die down he's just fuelling the fire. He can't help himself. My overriding feeling is just - BE QUIET . No I don't want to hear how bad you feel and I'm sure you do Phil, you were an idiot, but now is not the time.

You haven't "lost everything " Phil. You've lost your job and probably your career. Give over. You still have your, by all accounts, your lovely family and your massive wealth. You feel terrible now but you need to step back and get out of the public eye.

Sam Taylor Wood seemed to get away with it with Aaron Johnson. Was it because she looks like a young woman from a distance or some PR genius?

Just bare-faced chutzpah? Plus she was the director of the film it happened on.

Hopefully, she would get more pushback if she did that now.

What’s really irritating me now is Philip is saying he’s being targeted for being gay, that he didn’t groom anyone. So basically he’s deflecting from what he’s done.

For him the loss of his salary and the selling of his flat to buffer any savings/wraith he has us probably sticking in his gullet.

The selling of his flat is so he can buy another shagging bolthole but keep this really quiet and out of the media. He really is just sorry that he got caught out not anything else.
