Rubbish title but hopefully you know what I mean.

For me, those who spring to mind are:
Sir David Attenborough
Tom Hanks
Usain Bolt
Judy Dench

OP posts:

Roger Federer
Henry Cavill
Chris Hemsworth

@NowZeusHasLainWithLeda it has sailed, been firebombed & sunk without trace

Lewis Capaldi strikes me as very creepy

Lewis Capaldi has Tourette's and he is constantly managing his motor and verbal tics.

Never meet Alan Davies @CherryCokeFanatic, it will spoil things for you. He’s an arse.

Oh no! 😣

Sorry to shake your faith but Tom Hanks is a wrong’un.

I know…I was surprised too 😫

What’s Hanks done?? 😵‍💫

CherryCokeFanatic · 31/05/2023 08:40

Dermot O’Leary
Steve Jones
Matt Baker

Any of them would be deeply shocking

@CherryCokeFanatic sorry to be the bearer of bad news but AD is one of the most unpleasant people I’ve ever had the misfortune to know. A truly nasty, vindictive, spiteful little man eaten up with bitterness.

Was also once in the papers for biting the ear of a homeless man & showed zero contrition.

Who is AD??

See this one wouldn't surprise me at all, he's given me the creeps since I was little. Sorry!

There are rumours circulating about him, not very nice ones unfortunately. I really hope they are not true, I'll be crushed!
Tom Hanks is apparently part of this Epstein investigation, but who knows unless it comes out eventually. Also Bruce Willis, Demi Moore and Madonna!

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 31/05/2023 08:44

If you see Dawn French in public - don't bother her. In the experience of someone I know, she (quite rightly imo) doesn't engage if you go up to her all like you're pals with her. Celebrities are not your friends! Let them be.

ThankFeckForAirCon · 31/05/2023 08:44

Should be publicly denounce his sister just for being trans? You can support trans people individually without supporting every aspect of the trans ideology.

But he supports ALL trans rights, he tweeted about it before he deleted his Twitter. Anyone that is ok with men in women’s safe spaces, which he very much is, doesn’t respect women. That was the point I was responding to, you said ‘he seems to respect women’, I’m saying he doesn’t because he doesn’t support their right to single sex safe spaces.

Dolly Parton

Naga Munchetty
Mo Farah

Err, you only have to switch on BBC Breakfast any morning to see that Naga Munchetty is a spiteful, vindictive, condescending, gaslighting, mean bully 🤷‍♀️

A single anecdote, but a friend of mine was at a child's outdoor thing and Alan Davies and his family were there too. He was an absolute arse to everyone, other families and staff at the place, shrieking about keeping people away from his family. His wife/partner was apparently mortified and doing the whole "leave it just leave it" every time he shouted at a child for getting too close to him.

Mrsjayy · 31/05/2023 08:46

One of Tom Hanks sons is an absolute tool he's 1 of those influencers who go on about not needing money whilst having a multi millionaire set of parents,.

They must be so proud of him!

Another one who would be horrified to hear that Dermot O'Leary or Matt baker were unpleasant

Dolly Parton

Definitely not a wrong’un but I think it’s sad she won’t come out of the closet with Judy.

hotelmotelpremierinn · 31/05/2023 08:47

InvincibleInvisibility · 31/05/2023 02:38

I think there are many levels of wrong un

A non exhaustive list:

Grumpy when approached in public
Arsehole to work with
Unfaithful to partners
.
.
.
Illegal and morally repugnant actions

I wouldn't be surprised or upset at any celebrity being grumpy when approached in public.

I'd hope most weren't too aresholey or unfaithful but if they were, meh doesn't affect my life.

However illegal and morally repugnant acts - well I'd be gutted if it were people like David Tennant, Sir David A, Emma Thompson, Robin Williams,

Agree with this.

"A friend met X and they were an arsehole" = an opinion that may or may not be true

"Charged with sexual misconduct" = guilty of being a proper wrong un

Terry Wogan- I would be absolutely devastated if anything seedy came out. Grumpy maybe?
Harry and Keanu have the same gentle and lovely quality I think
Usain Bolt- I could not cope with finding out he was a drugs cheat- although I have never heard anything.

I love the meme about there only being 30 men who have ever run X distance in Y seconds. 9 of them later found to be drugs cheats, the other 21 were Usain Bolt. ❤️

Namechangeed · 31/05/2023 08:48

Freddie Mercury

It just wouldn’t happen with Dermot O’Leary!

I simply cannot fathom that. My brain would explode if he was found to be involved in some kind of Epstein-like scandal 😢😢

MarkWithaC · 31/05/2023 08:51

It's Tony Hart for me. Would kill my childhood.

A lot of these I've heard, from here/in real life/on Popbitch, are not nice. Roger Federer is supposed to be a bit of a diva, I think; a friend worked with Cumberbatch and said he was rude (I was gutted); Hadley Freeman has a Tom Hanks interview where the affable lovely mask slips and he is revealed as, if not horrid, much more gimlet-eyed and snappy than his public image; Ricky Gervais comes across to me as arrogant, egotistic and quite stupid (Simon Hattenstone has a quite revealing interview with him).

xoomer · 31/05/2023 08:55

I've worked with sir David, and can promise you he is an utter gent and exactly what you see on TV!! 🥰

@k17

But child abusers can be charming they aren't exactly going to tell you they have an interest in kids?

I agree, Monty Don seems okay when he's monologuing to camera in his own garden. But during various Chelsea Flower Shows I've seen him be dismissive about any of Joe Swift's differing opinions, hate on wildflower style planting, be bitchy to James Wong, near-laughing at people who make the most of their small garden, and it took until covid before he saw houseplants as valid gardening.
I notice he only seems to do copresenting with Joe Swift, and wonder why no one else is working with him. Every time he talks about 'paradise' gardens I roll my eyes at his inability to call them what they are - Islamic. I really would not be surprised if there were hard evidence to show he is a racist snob.

I don't claim that MD is a saint, but he did a TV show called Big Dreams Small Spaces that was about helping people with small gardens/outdoor space. He always came across as supportive and enthusiastic, and he put in some proper hard work digging, carrying etc.
On one of his recent shows he was enthusing about a meadow of wildflowers he came across (admittedly, maybe he likes those but doesn't like people planting in that style).
And in the actual series called Paradise Gardens, he talks about Islam a lot. Unavoidable I guess, given the context, but I didn't get the impression he was racist about them at all.

Rosen Atkinson is actually very nice but he is reserved and not a fan of the limelight. I have met him quite a few times professionally and through his interest in cars and he has always been unfailingly polite but he is reserved and doesn’t perform of camera as perhaps he’s expected to.

The person I know who used to work in his local shop would beg to differ. None of the staff ever wanted to serve him as he was so rude to them.

Those who are saying Alexander Armstrong.

I would have agreed with you,
then I went to an industry awards dinner a few years ago were he was the host. It was a really male dominated event.

He came out on stage, and his first line opening 'joke' was....

"What has 100 legs and no pubes?..... The front row of a Justin Bieber concert"..

Honestly set the tone for the whole night. I've not looked at him the same since,
