Glastonbury line up is a nightmare!

At first glance I was relieved as it looked like there were no acts I needed to see appart from my future husband Jarvis. And it was perfect, about five acts I wanted to try and see but no urgency. Elton obviously is one. I will not be in tip top condition this year and Im grateful just to be going but, honestly looking a it properly its full of clashes. Kelis V Artic Monkeys V Wizkid!

who would you be prioritising? https://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/line-up/line-up-2023/

Glastonbury Festival - 2023

I think the line up looks good! Agree - Arctic Monkeys, Lana, Lizzo, Hot Chip, Fatboy Slim, Maneskin, Lil Nas X, Carly Rae Jepsen, Courteneers…

Oooooh Gilbert O Sullivan, showing my age I know.

Seriously? Gilbert O’Sullivan. I’ve loved him since I was a child. Now he would be worth seeing.

IMustDoMoreExercise · 30/05/2023 18:01

Cat Stevens would be my priority.

Editors on Sunday. Always deliver.

Bluebells1970 · 30/05/2023 18:15

Hmm not the best year but I thought that last time and we ended up watching loads on TV so who knows..!!

Saw Elton live a few years ago, and it was awful. I nearly cried because it was a milestone birthday gift for DH, cost nearly £400 for the tickets, and we left 2/3rds of the way through to avoid the traffic. His voice was awful. And he kept stopping, which was really irritating - mainly to shout at stage hands or venue staff.. he was clearly in a foul mood that day.

Sparkleshine21 · 30/05/2023 18:16

Not sure if these clash with one another but there’s plenty I’d watch. I’m 31 if that’s relevant.
arctic monkeys
lizzo
capaldi
elton john
ben howard
Lana del ray
maggie rogers
queens of the stone age
the war on drugs
Kelis
rudimental
hot chip
courteeners
christine and the queens
phoenix
warpaint
Unknown mortal orchestra
fatboy slim
alt j

many more but I’d say the ticket price is worth it. I haven’t been myself! Hopefully one day!

Sparkleshine21 · 30/05/2023 18:17

I will be watching from home when time allows though!

SellFridges · 30/05/2023 18:19

I’m volunteering so can’t get excited about any acts until I know my shifts (on arrival). But I’m sooooooooo excited so totally with you OP!

jeffhasgoodhair · 30/05/2023 18:20

YABU the whole line up is 95% shit especially Elton.

I miss the days Glastonbury was 'alternative' rather than a massive cash cow disappointment.

EmeraldPanda · 30/05/2023 18:47

Definitely see Fred Again! He’s absolutely amazing. Enjoy!

EmeraldPanda · 30/05/2023 18:49

P.s. He’s on at the Other Stage on Friday.

TheSingingCharm · 30/05/2023 18:54

Warpaint!!!! Their single “Billie Holiday” is sublime.

Terzani · 30/05/2023 19:06

Sparks for sure!! Then Lana del Rey, Fatboy Slim, The Chicks, Cat Stevens, Arctic Monkeys, Lizzo, Hot Chip.

Thetowelsareallwrong · 30/05/2023 19:09

I've been a couple of times donkeys years ago, it's a great experience. Those who say they've gone for the last 20 years, how do you get tickets year after year?

CornishGem1975 · 30/05/2023 19:15

StaunchMomma · 30/05/2023 16:15

Gotta be honest, I think it looks shite.

I'd spend most of the weekend in Arcadia. Only a handful of others I'd want to see and certainly not the supposed headliners on the pyramid.

Not feeling the Glasto FOMO this year!

Same!

WooWooWinnie · 30/05/2023 19:17

I don’t like to plan my time that much, previously I have spent most of my time in the Circus and Cabernet areas or listening to music in tiny bars on stages that aren’t really stages. Not going this year sadly but Arctic Monkeys, Lizzo, Elton John, Lil Nas X, Christine & the Queens & Fatboy Slim I’d make the effort to try and see. I’d also be interested in The Big Moon, DJ Yoda, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The Windrush Choir, Cat Stephens, Sean Keavney’s Community Garden radio, Adam Hills, Bimini, Bobby Friction’s Bhangra Allstars, sing-a-long the bodyguard, but it would depend on if I was in the area or across the site!

Moltenpink · 30/05/2023 19:22

IMustDoMoreExercise · 30/05/2023 18:01

Cat Stevens would be my priority.

Mine too, closely followed by the Saw Doctors

SquashPenguin · 30/05/2023 19:24

You couldn’t pay me to see that line up. What a load of crap 🤣

llamallama6384 · 30/05/2023 19:44

What an incredibly disappointing line up.

Aquarius1234 · 30/05/2023 20:01

The line up was awful bad last year esp the headliners.
This year seems better.
What would be a great line up?
It feels less indie these days. But is that cos indie music isn't as popular?

Underthefloorboard · 30/05/2023 20:36

I went once. Despite hating the idea of camping, the experience was so magical I almost took to camping… Atmosphere was primary, the music was secondary. I never wanted to go back as feared it wouldn’t live up to the memory. I came on here to say just hang out at Lost Vagueness but see it stopped in about 2009 which shows how out of touch I am 😅

Wowzel · 30/05/2023 21:08

I am actually surprised by how many things I would like to see, I've never been to Glastonbury

30 years of the liberators
Altern8 b2b Shadow Child
Andy C
Hixxy
Guns n Roses
Manics
Candi Staton
Daniel Avery
Helena Hauff
Stanton Warriors
Faithless DJ set

I hate festival camping though, and queuing for toilets. It would have to be glamping for me to decide to go I think

FfeminyddCymraeg · 30/05/2023 21:10

Queens of The Stone Age would be a priority for me!

FfeminyddCymraeg · 30/05/2023 21:12

Saw GNR at Download many years back - they were on my bucket list of bands to see and they were dreadful. Seriously bad, especially without Slash.
