Jack Jones/Philip Schofield viral video

Has anyone seen this! Apparently years ago this YouTube pranksters let off an indoor confetti cannon in a restaurant where Philip Schofield was having a meal with a teenage boy! I think the video was from 2013! The guy who took the video, Jack Jones, has now come out to say that Philip begged him not post the video. If you watch it it's really creepy!

I also saw this all several years ago - the video, the photos etc. It's been lurking in the open to anyone who can google and on gossip sites for several years so it's interesting to see it all come out now as though it's all just been discovered and only now seems dodgy to people that blatantly knew of it at the time, that a grown man in position of power would be in this circumstance with this younger person he has taken an interest in since he was at school.

Presumably friends in high places helps keep a lot out of the news and when you lose those perks and are cut loose because you're no longer worth protecting, there is nowhere to hide and everyone else will be too busy trying to save their own income and reputation to want to link arms with a sinking ship.

Everyone behind the scenes seems to know about it but his wife had no idea about a single aspect of her husbands life or people he spent significant time with, holly had no idea, anyone else who needs a career or reputation preserving will shocked to the core and were lied to and therefore knew nothing. All a bit boring really. I just hope the younger man involved has access to reliable and trustworthy advice about how to proceed and protect himself.

PS was 51 when that video was filmed, not in his 30's. If MM was born in 1996 he would have been 17. They have known each other since MM was 10. Regardless of whether it was innocent or not, PS should have known that it would not look good.
In 1990, when I was 16, I did work experience in a primary, one young girl (5) need help drying herself after swimming lessons, I made sure that there was an appropriate adult present. Between 2007-2014 when my DS was at primary school I made sure that I was never in the cloakroom with a child on my own. I did this to protect myself, at the age of 16 and prior to all the big scandals (Gary Glitter, Savile and Rolf Harris) I understood how things could be misinterpreted.

It's hardly believable that Dan Baldwin wasn't aware as well as BFF Holly when the rumours have never gone away. Who even watched the show anyway? Not even my retired family members with time on their hands considered it. Perhaps it's so-called popularity was fueled by the Daily Mail with their endless clips every time the two goons pissed themselves laughing. If you wanted to discuss anything serious, would you go on a show presented by dull piss takers?

Well if his name is well known I'm sure there will be plenty of people who went to school with him, lived nextdoor to him, worked with his mum who will come along and correct it. If not it is probably true.

Are you saying that his wife and daughters were fully aware that their father / husband was having sex with boys and did / said nothing because money??? That’s an awful assertion to make.

Any organisation worth it's salt now, has safeguarding protocols to protect all staff and themselves from accusations / abuses of power.

ITV after Weinstein and Saville SHOULD have had this as part of work place conduct agreements.

The Runner was being mentored by Schofield. So even if he was 18, that's a problem because it remains a potential abuse of power and would result in dismissal in many workplaces and voluntary roles.

And THAT is why Schofield himself is saying it wasn't illegal but it was unwise.

In terms of whether grooming is involved there's still questions. It would depend on how much contact, particularly direct contact in person or via social media, had occurred before the age of 18.

There isn't any evidence being presented in this area by the media. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist either though. And that's a problem for both Schofield and ITV because Schofield has continually lied and concealed information to protect himself and thus can not be trusted.

Either way, Schofield though he was above behaving in a way expected of others who might work with children or young adults in a very junior or mentored position. And THAT'S where there is a proven issue which Schofield has admitted.

Schofield was taking this very junior member of staff to awards ceremonies which was not in line with his professional level and yet ITV didn't do due diligence and question this. Again really not ok.

Influencers have responsibility to set an example. National broadcasters have to uphold certain standards.

Schofield and ITV are proven to have failed in this regardless of whether anything further comes out.

His LinkedIn profile is available for all to see including the year when he started Secondary school (2007) so 1996 would appear to be correct.

PS having coercive control, the families his family manage, the mixed family holiday norms, it all builds a picture.

I've seen the video. JJ is definitely just jumping on and changing how he saw things then to fit the present day.

PS frequented places enough with the young man for JJ to know where he'd be to get this footage

... I used to be a youth worker, I've sat with young adults and plenty of under 18's on 1-1 key-work in public places like coffee shops, McD's etc.

I've never gone on to have a relationship with any bc I'm not a predator and there's no way I could see them as "equal adults" to myself in my professional role - nothing changes at 18, that could possibly make them attractive to date ffs if you were purely acting as a professional mentor. ... Having those thoughts is just beyond me towards someone you're mentoring as they enter the world of jobs, bills, careers, etc whilst you've been doing it for decades

Even if as PS says it didn't start until he was 18... and even if he frames those meetings as "mentoring a young person/colleague" - it SCREAMS that this is an older man who is motivated and sexually attracted to power and chose to abuse his on this younger man

He was born in 1996. His Linkedin profile including details of his education(He started secondary school in 2007) are available for all to see.

I knew someone on here would work it out. You could be a detective. So much is just what people think, adding 2 and 2 together and maybe getting 4 but maybe getting 5 so it is good to have some solid information.

Brigitte Macron met Emanuel Macron as his teacher when he was 15 and she was 40. Beyond the odd comment saying it’s a bit weird to have such a massive age gap, there was never any media attention talking it up as grooming - and she was his teacher rather than just a much older colleague. I wouldn’t say the attention is all homophobia - for a start it’s obviously all a bit too controversial for a happy clappy morning TV show to be dealing with - but I think homophobia is a part of it.

I think creepy is the wrong word. It looks inappropriate and potentially ominous. But for me it’s not creepy.

A pp says that they read he was born in 1996, but I suspect that's something put out by the PR crisis management team to try to make it all look less grim.

His linked in says he was at 6th form college 2012-14 so that would be about right.
