How can we get Harry Styles resale tickets without being scammed?

DD was supposed to go to Coventry but she was in hospital so couldn't go, so I've said I'll take her to London on 17 June if we can get tickets. Ticketmaster and Twickets are the official resale sites, but there's no tickets on there - I'm wondering whether they'll appear nearer the time - does anyone have any experience of this?

There are tickets on Viagogo and Stubhub but this is against the terms of the tickets and I'm a bit suspicious (and don't want to support touts, we failed to get Coldplay tickets when they were on sale on resale sites even before the official sales had ended) and Facebook groups, which DD said she's bought from before but there are a lot of dodgy profiles on there, it seems a minefield.

Any advice? I haven't bought resale concert tickets since before eBay stopped selling them! Thanks.

@SierraSapphire Sorry your DD was ill 😢 I hope she’s on the mend now!
Absolutely avoid Viagogo and Stubhub. I had a work colleague denied entry to a concert (I think it was Ed Sheeran) after buying on Viagogo - the tickets had been cancelled!
Definitely worth checking Ticketmaster and Twickets constantly. There will be many reasons that come up nearer the time as to why people can’t go and that’s the best way for them to guarantee a proper sale and recoup some of the costs!
Also worth posting on any social media pages for the event just saying that you’re looking for X number of tickets for that date and happy to buy through either ticketmaster resale or twickets 😊

Hope you manage to get some 😊

Extra tickets went on sale for Murrayfield a couple of days before the concert through official websites so they may do the same for Wembley.

LlynTegid · 29/05/2023 07:59

Perhaps you may have to accept that to avoid being scammed, you cannot go. I am sure Harry Styles will tour again.

Sorry to read that illness stopped you going.

Set up Twickets alerts and watch for Ticketmaster releasing more a few days before.
I hope you get to go, he's amazing

BriceNobeslovesMurielHeslop · 29/05/2023 08:02

Second what @Plump82 said- I got one of the later release tickets. It was “restricted view”- ours was ok, but it might be worth checking out the seating plan while buying.
I got a ticket for Beyoncé at Murrayfield but checking Ticketmaster daily until I got a resale- fingers crossed for you op.

BriceNobeslovesMurielHeslop · 29/05/2023 08:02

*by, not but.

GreggAndTomlette · 29/05/2023 08:08

Agree with others, avoid Stubhub and Viagogo like the plague! Loads have been popping up on Twickets, I’d set up an alert and jump on them as soon as they come on. Good luck!

SierraSapphire · 29/05/2023 08:22

Thanks everyone. DD had quinsy and is fully recovered but on the waiting list for a tonsillectomy! But her friends went and had an amazing time, so it's made me want to go as well, I've also had health issues and haven't been to a concert for years so I'm trying to make the most of being healthy for the moment.

I've an idea that there has already been a late release of restricted view tickets for Wembley though I'm not 100% sure, ideally we'd like to get not restricted. I've got Ticketmaster and Twickets alerts. I'm still being obsessive about checking them though even though I haven't had an alert!

I’ve always managed to get tickets off of twickets, I got Ed Sheeran ones about 2 weeks before, just keep constantly checking.
defo avoid stub hub and viagogo, hoards of people were denied entry from several concerts I’ve been to by buying tickets from those sites.

SierraSapphire · 29/05/2023 10:57

That’s good that Twickets works for people. I guess it’s just being quick when there’s an alert. Reminds me of trying to get cancellation driving tests a couple of years ago with DD and I both on it!

I buy and sell a lot on Twickets, it's a brilliant site.
I know you don't want restricted view, but you can still see him, albeit his back most of the time, however the screens are huge and excellent and give you the best bits and the atmosphere is magical.
"Leave America", could be heard two miles away.
Don't rule it out.
Also, just cos I can, my best photos from Friday.

Before I knew any better I paid £270 for a Harry ticket on Viaggogo.
I ended up with two though as the guy couldn't sell the other one, and I sold the spare outside the venue for £100.
That was Live on tour, his first solo tour and it was for my 40th birthday in 2017.
Still worth every penny, and it was at The Armadillo in Glasgow which is relatively tiny.

fruitpastille · 29/05/2023 14:08

Not stubhub. I was denied entry with tickets I had bought as the tickets had subsequently been reissued. I was assured several times that my tickets had remained valid. I was unable to make contact with stub hub via email or phone and only eventually got my money via a lengthy credit card section 75 claim.

JackRosenberg · 29/05/2023 14:12

Twickets alert with push notifications is the way to go. Good luck!

SierraSapphire · 29/05/2023 14:33

Thanks for the pics @TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening I will get restricted view tickets if we need to, but will wait a bit and see what else is available. We are restricted on days we can go as DD is a student nurse on placement at the other end of the country. I was tempted to get tickets for Slane Castle in Ireland, but she’s at Parklife that weekend. I suppose I could go on my own…!

OMG, do it.
I went on my own.
I was on my own for precisely, well not at all.
I arrived in the outside queue at midday, and was welcomed and that was that, wasn't alone until I got back to my car at midnight!
I do go to tons of gigs on my own, all over the country and have an absolute ball, my next is Mika in Bristol and I can't wait.

SierraSapphire · 29/05/2023 14:55

It’s tempting but it seems a bit mean to do it without DD, as she was the one who originally had the ticket and couldn’t go! Though she is seeing The 1975 that weekend which is one of her favourite bands. I have something else arranged as well, if me and DD had been able to go, I would’ve cancelled it, but as it is I’ll hold out for London!

Well there you go, she's seeing The 1975.
-go to Harry--
He probably won't tour again for a few years now either.

SierraSapphire · 29/05/2023 17:27

Two tickets for London came up on the Twickets alert, I was holding my phone at the time and clicked on them straight away, but they were already gone, I think DD with her young person’s reaction time might be better than me. I remember one year failing to get Glastonbury tickets when broadband has just been introduced but only really in universities, so we lost out to students who could use it whilst we sat at home with our dial up. I quite like the excitement of the search though!

I managed to get four Lewis Capaldi tickets back in January this way, just keep trying.

SierraSapphire · 30/05/2023 15:43

I’ve got tickets! I’ve got them through Ticketmaster resales, so no danger I presume of not being let in. I was jumping up and down and then DD didn’t answer the phone for half an hour. We’d already been planning our outfits though! We’ve got rear standing, so I’m happy with that. Phew.

Yaaaas!
Ticketmaster is reliable and fine, BUT make sure you print them.
You need a paper printed ticket.
Rear standing will be so much fun for the dancing, particularly the TPWK boot scoot, and Satellite run in of course.
Take sealed water and sweet snacks for energy/to prevent fainting.

Thanks for the tips Tastes. Very excited!
