Has anyone gone from Apple to Samsung?

If you have, do you regret it - this is for my mobile phone.

I’ve been Apple for years. Prior to that blackberry. I’d love a blackberry again but now looking at Samsung.

I've gone from apple to Samsung and definitely won't go back x

Changingplace · 27/05/2023 20:29

I looked at it, but tbh it seemed like a huge faff when I have all my photos etc stored against my Apple ID, I’m sure it’s totally doable but I’m lazy and couldn’t be bothered with the hassle!

Kittybelle123 · 27/05/2023 20:33

I lasted a week. Nearly had a nervous breakdown. Apple all the way for me.

Witchpleas · 27/05/2023 20:39

Yep and I lasted less than a year - got a refurbed iPhone sim free even though I was still in contract on the Samsung. I found it unnecessarily complicated and very user unfriendly. I also hated little things like it would either show me a full
WhatsApp message on the Lock Screen or nothing, it could never just indicate that there's a message from X or in Y group without showing the contents. That did my head in!

My DH has always had Apple (10+ years), I have always had Samsung (same kind of period). With the benefit of a direct comparison over various models of each I will absolutely continue with Samsung. However he, with the same comparison history, will always be pro Apple. It's personal preference at the end of the day ... but one thing I am sure of is my batteries always last much longer than his, and for me at least, battery life and charging resilience is super important.

Oatsamazing · 27/05/2023 20:43

I did it and found it wasn't much more stressful than when I had replaced an apple with an apple. I'll be sticking with Samsung unless a cheaper/better option comes along.

Boardname · 27/05/2023 20:44

Yes I did a few years back, I really like Samsung. I like that you can change the themes, customise more aspects of the appearance and usage of stuff, can add a memory card, seems to work better with a lot of the apps I use, specs are really good for the price.

Daisymay2 · 27/05/2023 20:46

I switched from Samsung to Apple recently, and although there are minor things that irritate me, the lack of Samsung bloat is a winner for me! Huge amount of memory were taken up by apps I couldn't remove.

FOJN · 27/05/2023 20:46

About 10 years ago and have nothing but Samsung since. The battery life is great.

cocksstrideintheevening · 27/05/2023 20:47

I'm apple have a Samsung for work. Hate the bloody thing.

Inkypot · 27/05/2023 20:47

I did! Swiftly regretted it, don't do it 😂

I got a lovely Samsung and initially liked things like all the customisation available in terms of the themes etc. Had fun playing around with it and having something different.
But those are the only good points. Android needs constant updates- way more than Apple. It's a slower user interface overall and it is absolutely not user friendly compared to iOS.
I lasted around a year and then found a good deal on an iPhone and sold my Samsung.
Having experienced both, Apple is just so smooth and easy. It's like the difference between Zoom and Teams. Zoom is well thought out- fairly easy once you get going. Whereas Teams seems clunky and cheap by comparison. It's the same with Apple versus android.

Spiderboy · 27/05/2023 20:48

I did, regretted it and went back to apple. Only thing I will ever have now

WomanFromTheNorth · 27/05/2023 20:51

I did and I've been with Samsung ever since.

MrsJamin · 27/05/2023 20:52

Why a Samsung android phone? Really recommend a pixel phone so you don't get anything other than Google using their own mobile operating system, no bloat or unnecessary gubbins.
Apple is so overpriced and they are behind so many technological advances that android phones make first.

BelindaBears · 27/05/2023 20:55

My work phone is a Samsung and I hate it. I don’t find it intuitive at all.

Jewel1968 · 27/05/2023 21:01

I have an android (not Samsung) and apple phone. One for work. Android all the way for me. Never really understood the Apple loyalty.

I once had a Windows phone (I am a bit of an early adopter) and I actually really liked it so perhaps I am different to most people 😁

FirstnameSuesecondnamePerb · 27/05/2023 21:07

I did about 7 years ago. Would never go back.

Jeannie88 · 27/05/2023 21:10

Yes and never looked back! Cheaper, super efficient and amazing cameras. X

Soscrewed · 27/05/2023 21:24

Yes- though I'd say it takes a wee while to get used to the change. I find it much more intuitive that my work iphone.

CountryStore · 27/05/2023 21:28

Yes, I did. I think apple phones are vastly superior, but Samsung are cheaper with more memory, so I will stick with Samsung 🤷‍♀️

Figgygal · 27/05/2023 21:30

Yup and no regrets
Will never go back to apple

Survey99 · 27/05/2023 21:31

Switched to android a few years ago, but didnt gel with it, was so glad when it eventually broke and replaced with apple again.

Nothing wrong with either of them it is just personal preferrence, but some people can be very anti one or the other and need to get a life 🤣

MadEyeMoodysEye · 27/05/2023 21:34

I've had Samsung phones for years and always been happy with them. I've also had a company iPhone for the last 2 years and don't like it nearly as much and struggle to see why it costs so much more.

EdinaCrump · 27/05/2023 21:40

In the end you get what you pay for. For me it’s iPhone or no phone.
I’ve had to use many Android phones for work and they were all garbage.

DreamItDoIt · 27/05/2023 22:14

Yes and back again to Apple. Won't go back now
