Really?! There are more?

Yes. It’s all going to come tumbling out.

I'm not sure why he's on the list, even though he is 14 years older than Georgia his wife. But she was well into her 20s when they met, which is rather different to still being in primary school!

(Or have I missed yet another "everyone knows" issue?)

That's you and me both. Lets hope its a typo😂

Letsallthinkofaname · 26/05/2023 20:12

I suspect he won't go quietly and will pull down some big names with him - or the incoming inquiry will dig some out.

I read elsewhere this will be a good day to bury news so to keep an eye on the political articles too

StaunchMomma · 26/05/2023 20:12

He knows the NDA he made the boyfriend sign runs out soon - can you imagine how much money the rags have offered him to tell his story!!

What the statement doesn't say is that he met the kid six years before he got hi the job, added him on eg socials and 'kept in touch'.

All a bit groomy!

Idontpostmuch · 26/05/2023 20:12

Freefall212 · 26/05/2023 18:43

He can't really deny it. There are countless pictures already online of them together along with social media posts and witness accounts.

I don't think it was a real affair as it seems they had an open marriage but if he denied the relationship was happening, I can see why ITV and Holly are fuming. Again, though, given the clear evidence one can find with a very basic google search, ITV, Holly or his family could quickly have presented that evidence to him.

I don't think it's ever been said that he and his wife have had an open marriage. So much of what's around is nothing more than gossip and assumption. It ABSOLUTELY IS an affair and I feel terribly sorry for his wife.

RhinoMoveFast · 26/05/2023 20:13

SamW98 · 26/05/2023 20:09

And they were thrown under a bus by ITV in a desperate attempt to protect their golden groomer

The sacred caste must be safeguarded, not the vulnerable and destroy the whistleblowers when you are at it.

Letsallthinkofaname · 26/05/2023 20:16

Eamonn is talking very very loudly on twitter! It seems multiple execs at ITV knew about his behaviour and did nothing.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 26/05/2023 20:16

I genuinely think his wife and children must have known privately for a very long time. You don't stand by a husband like that unless there is an understanding there surely? She'll get a lot of money in the divorce regardless. His adult daughter manages him too doesn't she?

'It's not illegal' is a low bar to set. If you've mentored someone from childhood, used your fame to wangle them a job on your television shows and then had a sexual relationship with them it is grooming, exploitation and an abuse of power. ITV and all the shows Schofield has worked on have questions to answer, too. Their employment practices shouldn't allow current employees to get jobs for teenagers they know and then use that favour to gain influence over said teenager for sexual gain.

Precisely. I work with children and teens and some of them are now in their late 20s, I’m not that much older than them but I’d never see them as anything more the kids I used to work with! Just because something is legal doesn’t mean it’s moral. And also agree this a good time to look at how the old “it’s who you know not what you know” practices are unfair and problematic. Not only does it leave equally or more talented people out in the cold, it opens the “chosen” ones up to abuse since they know they’re there as a favour.

Meeting · 26/05/2023 20:17

I truly hope that this doesn't turn out to be like the Jimmy saville situation

EsmaCannonball · 26/05/2023 20:18

To be fair, there are a lot of This Morning people who have fallen out with ITV over Schofield's backstage behaviour: Ruth and Eamonn, Rylan, Dr Ranj, Amanda Holden and Fern Cotton. (I don't even watch the show but I know about the fall-outs!) They all loathe him, but if there are NDAs and gagging orders in place and they don't know if he has done anything actually illegal then they can't call him out directly.

User135644 · 26/05/2023 20:18

ODFOx · 26/05/2023 18:47

He had an affair with another consenting adult. FGS the 'mystery' and conjecture has made it far worse than it ever was.
If he'd come clean about the affair when he came out it would be water under the bridge by now.

Always thought it was distasteful how he was celebrated for 'coming out' when he did, despite the reality of it and his poor wife.

QuintanaRoo · 26/05/2023 20:19

His blurb on Twitter says he no longer responds to messages and no longer tweets.

It’s already being called saville 2.0

SamW98 · 26/05/2023 20:19

DeflatedAgain · 26/05/2023 20:09

It's vile isn't it. Like saying 'legal age' makes it magically okay 🪄

Yep - it’s like dirty old middle aged perv shags a child aged 15 and 364 days - disgusting hang ‘em

Same old perv waits til their victims 16th birthday - apologists ‘well it’s legal so he didn’t do anything wrong’

80s · 26/05/2023 20:19

Oh dear. I've not lived in the UK for decades so mainly remember him as a children's TV presenter.

"Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship."

savory · 26/05/2023 20:19

If we could publicly burn him with priests and everything I would be a lot happier ! As it is, we have to make do with the DM and the salacious sidebar.

HotSince82 · 26/05/2023 20:19

Tbf I would do Jeff Goldblum all day long....

No he's older than my Dad.

Tbf his wife is 36 and he is 69 and if you're reading this Jeff, rest assured; I'm better looking than her. Slide in to those DMs hun 😉

LunaNorth · 26/05/2023 20:20

David Tennant’s wife was a mother when they met, fgs. It’s not the same thing at all.

Good for him, if he was a sacked whistleblower!

Eammon whilst on This morning was being gentle on the journalist who goes by the name India Willoughby, was also decent towards a Gender critical woman's rights activist, a former poster on here. Eammon does not seen the type to push permanent pre pubescent bodies or access to women for unsavoury men. This was at a time Phillip and Holly were pushing Mermaids.

He's admitting the 'afair' started at 18.

If that's true (which seems unlikely- he got the kid the job as soon as he was 18), Schofield has known his victim since he was a young child and was in a position of massive power over him as a TV star, senior figure in his acting school and then his boss.

It's abuse. Even if it's technically legal it's still awful.

thewillowbunnies · 26/05/2023 20:23

What's this 'mermaids' everyone is going on about? What have I missed?

CosmosQueen · 26/05/2023 20:24

Enfys1982 · 26/05/2023 19:11

Holly knew exactly what was going on. They all knew. Ruth, Eamon, Rylan. There’s no way she didn’t know as well.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he tries dragging them down with him for complicity in keeping things hushed up.
Reading about Holly consoling him when he came out makes me feel quite 🤢; how could she continue to stand by him?

Freefall212 · 26/05/2023 20:24

The runner likely signed an NDA when he worked as Phil's personal assistant but I am not sure that would cover his personal life.

The relationship was already public on social media in July 2019 but not verified (but names names). Scofield didn't 'come out' until Feb 7th, 2020.

It is likely things wetn very sour in January and runner threatened to go public and Philip paid him to not do so. Also young runner likely didn't really want his name, picture and story blasted across media and incessant hounding for interviews. Runner is now 27 and still works in the industry but not for ITV. I doubt at this age and stage he wants this story to be front and centre unless there really is some bombshell to break.

QuintanaRoo · 26/05/2023 20:24

Eamon holmes is getting slaughtered by a significant proportion of people on Twitter from what I can see. People saying he must have known as well, but said nothing, sat beside him when he came out and patted his hand.
