If you were due to be paid on the 28th (Sunday), have you been paid todsy

Please just give a yes or no. My ex hasn’t paid me maintenance, he says he hasn’t been paid today (payday is 28th). Last time he did this he didn’t send me the maintenance that month. He says he won’t be getting it until Tuesday.

He works for a massive, well known international company if that makes a difference.

There won't be a standard answer. I get paid on the 26th of each month, if that's a Sunday I don't get it until the Monday. Might be different because of the bank holiday but not necessarily. Also some banks credit the money the day before, others not until midnight.

It should be set up as a standing order to go on 1st of month. Not sure about if his wages are paid from overseas as could get held up by banks even though is all electronic now.

my payday is last working day of month if this is a weekend date then it is paid on the Friday.

get a court to set the date as 1st as everyone knows when it’s coming. Any delays are then covered

Both my and my husband's companies always pay us on the Friday if our salary is due on Saturday or Sunday. I think that's pretty standard.

I have asked him a THOUSAND times to set it up as a standing order but he never does 🙄. He just sends it at whatever time he sees fit which makes me really anxious as some months he just doesn’t bother sending it. I’ve spoken to the CSA but they’re rubbish

DH gets paid the 28th and is getting paid on Tuesday

DH gets paid on the Friday if it's due on a Saturday and on the Monday if its due on a Sunday.

Most places pay early if normal pay date is at the weekend or on a BH, especially large companies that do BACS runs, rather than small companies that pay manually using faster payments.

However, he could be telling the truth, but sounds unlikely given it seems to be more about him being unco-operative, as it would obviously be a lot easier for him to set up a standing order for the payment to be made automatically.

Could you apply for the money to be deducted automatically from his salary and sent straight to you? Is that an option when they won't pay?

It’s only £100 a month he pays even though he earns around £80,000 a year. That £100 a month is make or break for me, it’s peanuts to him. I’ve spoken to the CSA who basically said they can’t do anything, when I’ve asked him to increase it he pleads absolute poverty and says if he increases it he won’t be able to afford to have DS as he can’t absorb the increased food/energy bills for 2 weekends a month. DS ADORES his dad, worships the ground he walks on so I have to let it go, roll on him

He will have been paid today, but if he pays you by a standing order set up for 28th, that won't go out until Tues.

yes today work for a large supermarket chain. my ex was exactly like this and i would say the same SET UP A BLOODY STANDING ORDER as its a sensible way to manage your money!!! i dont get why some people are like this!!!

It depends on peoples contracts. We get paid on 22nd but our contract states paid on or before 12 noon on 23rd of the month.

can you not contact child maintenence and get them to collect it directly, its called pay and collect i think. or is he self employed?
