School pick up twat

Revoltingrhyme · 25/05/2023 22:11

We’re all anonymous here so we can secretly rage at the one person who drives us insane at school pick up.

Now I’ll start by saying this isn’t an attack on the women, I am a young, high maintenance woman myself- platinum hair, false tan etc but there’s a few groups of similar mums at the school pick up who come in gym sets, hair all done, lovely done filler. Very glam.

But it’s this one dad who sets my teeth on edge. He will cut the queue every day and walk up the path past everyone until he finds one of these mums and tries to flirt with them very blatantly. It’s the strut he does, the specific type of woman he looks for. He’s not even cutting right up to the front, just until he sees one of these mums who are simply trying to pick up their kids. Argh he makes my skin crawl and it never fails to irritate me every day 😂

Anyone else have that one twat at pick up who annoys you?

Very restrained of you. I would have called her a fat cunt. To her face.

This would have been accurate.

Here it’s the yummy mummy yoga crew with Sweaty Betty gear on and their mats rolled up under their arms. Really grinds my gears, like why carry the yoga mat with you into the drop-off area? Leave it in the car unless……..oh wait you want EVERYONE to know you’re very bendy and are going to YOGA

MrTiddlesTheCat · 26/05/2023 12:15

The pick up twat at my school is the mum who drives a fucking minibus. Not a people carrier 7 seater, a full on minibus. Because they have 4 kids and need the space.

It's a rural school with a small narrow carpark. If she gets there early enough she'll park across 3 or 4 parking spaces as it's too long to park otherwise. People have started arriving earlier and earlier as they don't want to park in the lane as it means you're half in the ditch. She can't do that as she'd block the lane, so instead she now parks across the entry to the carpark so nobody can get in or out of it. She been told not to but really doesn't care.

There are some right cunty posts on here. People say scousers have chips on their shoulders - but then refuse to accept that other people constantly make judgmental comments about them all the fucking time. See @CharlottenBurger's comment for example.

I live here but I'm not from here, I see it all the time.

Anyway, as you were. Got my rant out!

Well when I was at primary the dad didn’t do the school run cause they were at work.
couldn’t stand the school playground dads when my daughters were in primary. They all sent their wives out to graft which I found off putting. I remember one had his boxers on show and when sat down you could his skid marks 🤢
obviously there are exceptions, single dads, millionaire investors etc etc but most of them are just lazy losers.

Are all the stay at home Mom's who send their husbands out to graft also lazy losers?

Tlittle · 26/05/2023 12:30

There's one who seems to want me to take their kid to school or pick up nearly every day for stupid reasons. It is like a five minute walk and they don't work. If I don't they ask someone else. One time I said no as kids were sick and they were like - oh no what should I do now? Here's a thing maybe take them yourself...

Wait what?

You think most men who pick up their kids are lazy losers because they’re ‘sending their wives out’ to work?

I'm highly envious that there are people in this country blissfully unaware of the existence of Dryrobes 😆

I am lucky enough to live very close to the school, and all the residents of our little street are in a constant state of apoplexy over everyone who parks on the yellow lines at the junction and makes crossing the road to school so dangerous, but anyone in a colossal Chelsea tractor who keeps their engine running while they do so sends my blood pressure into dangerous territory.
Weirdly enough, if you go round the corner past our houses, there's a whole road that's barely parked on, that only a handful of school parents use. I guess walking the extra 100m is too much effort for most of them 🙄

And there is that one dad....the one who drives the biggest, shiniest SUV of all, who parks across our parking spaces blocking us in, and who I caught telling his preschool aged child to "stop fucking whining" the other day. So .....him.

LOL this reminded me of Phoebe in Friends. "I'm very bendy!"

MinnieMountain · 26/05/2023 12:57

There’s a man who picks his DC up from choir practice sometimes. Parks his convertible with music blaring out right in front of the “no parking” sign and obstructs the dropped kerb as well. Wears a loose vest to show off the hours he (presumably) spends in the gym.

TheodoreMortlock · 26/05/2023 13:02

Archie's Dad. A smug, overbearing walloper of a man who is constantly belittling his younger son while simultaneously showing off about how great they all are. You hear him before you can see him "Did you have a good day Archie, have you gone up to FREE READER yet Archie, your reading age is TEN NOW ARCHIE you should be doing MUCH BETTER than blue level.... you're dong the Romans, you should be GOOD AT THAT AFTER OUR HOLIDAY TO ROME, it was SO EDUCATIONAL, surely you haven't forgotten it all ALREADY"

Archie's mum doesn't talk and mostly looks defeated.

(Archie's name has been changed)

@Inkypot
Did you not know on MN no decent mother has coloured hair and they dress like Kate Middleton, getting tan or nails is just trashy, any type of self care is common.

So true. Particularly the thing about coloured hair or nails

It's a middle class thing. There's also a special circle in MC hell reserved for:

Mothers who dare to post selfies on Insta or Facebook (height of attention seeking and "desperation")
Mothers who wear anything with the vaguest hint of sex appeal (so no heels, only approved footwear is open toed Birkenstock or Fitflop or sensible walking shoes or brogues if its cold)
Mothers who wear any kind of corporate attire or carry designer labels
Wearing perfume is the height of trashiness
Mothers who wear primary or neon colours: the only approved colours are neutrals, navy or gray

You're supposed to become a kind of eunuch when you have children, expunge all traces of femininity and desire and all your energy is subsumed into creating an exemplary landscape of middle class taste for your children to absorb and so as not to frighten your husband.

misslooloo · 25/05/2023 23:15

Exactly. And I doubt they ever will!

Dry robes are also popular at cold evening barbecues.

Good grief, I thought dry robes were a thing for dogs. A toweling dog coat for when they get wet.

Crikey, at our pick ups everyone just wears Jean's tshirts and trainers

Does Jean not mind then? 😉😂

itdoesnt · 26/05/2023 13:16

It is so weird that a woman can't comment on a man she has witnessed being creepy without being told she's jealous he wasn't creeping on her.

HerMammy · 26/05/2023 13:17

@Thepeopleversuswork
I'm sick of seeing fellow
women completely denigrate other women because they chose to have nice hair, nails, clothes.
It's not 1952 where women are expected to be drudges devoted 24/7 to their kids and suspicious any attractive woman is after their husband. The irony is these pps think they're so liberated and forward thinking when in fact they're just nasty small minded jealous women.

Longwhiskers · 26/05/2023 13:25

I feel disappointed in our school yard. We are 5 mins walk from the beach yet never seen a dry robe, people must go and change before doing the school run!

Maybe the OP was bringing it on herself with all the blather about the bottle- blonde/fake tan/and fillers look? As if it was something to admire? Not everyone feels that way.

Hear hear. I think it's a hangover from Puritanism and a toxic mixture of class snobbery and moralism.

These people aren't religious any more (mostly), but they carry with them a set of attitudes that harks back to a Christian ethic that any kind of self care or self-adornment is "flashy" and "fast" and is probably indicative that you are insecure OR looking for extra marital sex.

My mum was totally like this and it was all about insecurity because she'd married "up" She thought it was trashy to get a manicure or have your hair dyed blonde and she basically didn't like any kind of self-adornment so she was always pushing us to wear really dull, hippyish, gender neutral and unsexy clothes.

It left me with loads of hangups about beauty and self care and a lifelong love of the aesthetic she hated. I've always been blonde and made up and loved hot pink. God rest her soul she must be turning in her grave.

There's loads of it about. The Boden wearing, Birkenstock wearing, dry robe wearing, no make-up, clean nails crowds. They will all say its because it's practical and because they don't care what they look like and can't be bothered to run a brush their hair etc but mostly it's stealth snobbery.

stayflufft · 26/05/2023 11:51

Really? Does anyone actually tell their DH they aren’t allowed to talk to certain women? 🤔

Me, I do. I tell my husband not to talk to me (usually first thing in the morning) but he still does. 🙄😂

lostinfusion · 26/05/2023 13:37

my husband has a dry robe - wears it on his walk back from the gym after his shower. Nothing wrong with them imo

HerMammy · 26/05/2023 13:38

Stealth snobbery is spot on, birkenstocks, boden don't come cheap.

Toottooot · 26/05/2023 13:38

arethereanyleftatall · 25/05/2023 22:56

Lol, not like this at my dds primary. Platinum hair would stick out like a sore thumb. We're all in boden, knee high boots, sensible skirts, roll neck slim fit jersey. Or active wear.

Sounds fucking awful. 💁🏻‍♀️
