School pick up twat

We’re all anonymous here so we can secretly rage at the one person who drives us insane at school pick up.

Now I’ll start by saying this isn’t an attack on the women, I am a young, high maintenance woman myself- platinum hair, false tan etc but there’s a few groups of similar mums at the school pick up who come in gym sets, hair all done, lovely done filler. Very glam.

But it’s this one dad who sets my teeth on edge. He will cut the queue every day and walk up the path past everyone until he finds one of these mums and tries to flirt with them very blatantly. It’s the strut he does, the specific type of woman he looks for. He’s not even cutting right up to the front, just until he sees one of these mums who are simply trying to pick up their kids. Argh he makes my skin crawl and it never fails to irritate me every day 😂

Anyone else have that one twat at pick up who annoys you?

We are in Liverpool, so it’s very much in the culture to be so glam all the time 😂

Are you jealous that he bypasses you on the way to someone else?!
Just wondering what the relevance of your false tan, platinum hair, general high maintenance references are?

Hahaha I knew it would be Liverpool- that’s where we are and the same in our playground

I’m glad I don’t live in Liverpool… sounds exhausting 😂

Here it’s the Dry Robe crew that send me insane. I doubt they’ve ever been cold water swimming, never mind nipping in for a quickie before the school run.

Dry Robes are middle-class PJs.

Probably to avoid posts saying 'You're jealous because you're short, fat and poor, aren't you?'.

Oh I was just trying to make the point I wasn’t putting the other women down by pointing out them being high maintenance as I’ve seen people on here suggest that when it’s used as a descriptor!

He’s definitely not my type- very geordie shore type man, I’m very into my bearded and tattooed alternative DP 😁

What is a dry robe? Is it a dressing gown

Revoltingrhyme · 25/05/2023 22:51

Ive just had to look up dry robes! Who would make their afternoon more hellish by adding a swim before a school run? Or perhaps they’re onto something we aren’t!

Oh they aren’t swimming, they just wear them like a coat.

Zone2NorthLondon · 25/05/2023 22:54

Dry robes are fuckin ugly. Jesus wept

arethereanyleftatall · 25/05/2023 22:56

Lol, not like this at my dds primary. Platinum hair would stick out like a sore thumb. We're all in boden, knee high boots, sensible skirts, roll neck slim fit jersey. Or active wear.

llareggub · 25/05/2023 22:58

Standard garb around here in a certain type of schoolyard and yes, they will have been for a sea swim before school. They will also make sure you know about it.

I hate dry robes with a passion. My friend told me l should get one cos everyone has them....which was my exact reason for not wanting one!

Zone2NorthLondon · 25/05/2023 23:01

My school has
Gym kit full make up mums
Middle class Uniform Mums toast,Boden, Me & Em. Swishy hair, veja sneakers
The nannies
The drop & run crew. Always harassed. Work wear

WhereTheSuburbsMeetUttoxeter · 25/05/2023 23:06

Made the mistake of googling Dry Robe.

Just why?

Nevermind. I don't care. I'm old.

Jitterybugs · 25/05/2023 23:06

I spent a full day at my daughter’s earlier this week waiting for a delivery. A middle aged man strolled by the window wearing one of those dry robe things walking his dog. In the course of the day he walked along with the dog 4 times and still wearing the dry robe monstrosity. He looked ridiculous. There isn’t a river, lake or sea for miles around so he definitely wasn’t wild water swimming in between the multiple dog walks.

So none of the mums at your school have highlighted hair? I have platinum blonde hair myself but I'm not remotely glam, just a pretty run of the mill mum that happens to have blonde hair. I can't imagine a school (or any everyday situation) where that would stick out like a sore thumb.

Inkypot · 25/05/2023 23:14

*to be clear I mean pretty as in fairly, not just boldly calling myself pretty 😄

Exactly. And I doubt they ever will!

Dry robes are also popular at cold evening barbecues.

LarkLane · 25/05/2023 23:27

Start a rumour that he's a really shit hairdresser trying to drum up business.
