A plant in the garden has flowered and it's this gorgeous blue colour, or is it purple ?? I'm not sure but it's beautiful !! Any idea what the plant is also ? 😆

It's flax. Blue to me.

CatherinedeBourgh · 25/05/2023 17:25

Unless those thick leaves are it's leaves, in which case definitely not flax

Fraaahnces · 25/05/2023 17:25

Blurple.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 25/05/2023 17:26

Lithodora ( though I think the botanists are changing its name.

Babyroobs · 25/05/2023 17:28

Cornflower blue but it's not a cornflower.

AdaColeman · 25/05/2023 17:29

Gromwell?

CosyCoffee · 25/05/2023 17:30

I think it's a periwinkle and it's periwinkle blue.

CatherinedeBourgh · 25/05/2023 17:31

Is it quite tiny? If so, maybe lithodora?

CosmosQueen · 25/05/2023 17:31

Gentian blue?

CosyCoffee · 25/05/2023 17:32

oops, my plant identification app says @AdaColeman is correct and it's a gromwell (which I've never heard of!)

EverythingsCominUpMilhouse · 25/05/2023 17:35

I think it could be this, Lithodora diffusa 'Heavenly Blue':

www.rhsplants.co.uk/plants/_/glandora-prostrata-heavenly-blue/classid.2000042442/

TheWitchwithNoName · 25/05/2023 17:36

I also think it’s a periwinkle

Hellhath · 25/05/2023 17:37

I'd call it gentian blue.

Angrymum22 · 25/05/2023 17:39

Royal blue or cerulean.
It looks like Rosemary. From picture Lithodora diffusa 'Heavenly Blue'.

Angrymum22 · 25/05/2023 17:40

It is described as a royal blue flower.

Villagetoraiseachild · 25/05/2023 17:42

My money's on gromwell/lithodora, same family.
I had one once, glorious blue!

drstranger · 25/05/2023 18:35

I really want this blue in my house somewhere but don't know what room I could use it in, it's lovely.

Yeah I think it's Glandora (looked on plant id too) you'd think I would know as I planted the thing !!
