Sad RIP Tina

Ohpleeeease · 24/05/2023 20:26

I saw her perform with Ike in a little basement nightclub in the 70s. She was within touching distance of me. Years later I couldn’t believe that the raw (but wonderful) singer we’d seen was the same Tina Turner.

PickledMuffin · 24/05/2023 20:27

@Ohpleeeease Wow! Must be amazing thinking back to them. Lucky ❤️

woodhill · 24/05/2023 20:27

RIP Tina😢

So many wonderful people dying of late

Onomatopoeia4 · 24/05/2023 20:29

RIP Tina. I've always been happy for her that she found love again after being with Ike.

Topseyt123 · 24/05/2023 20:32

RIP Tina. What a legend.

Ohpleeeease · 24/05/2023 20:32

@PickledMuffin I’m ashamed to say I was too young to appreciate her, clubs being a lot less finicky about under age drinking in those days!

PopcorningLikeAHappyGuineaPig · 24/05/2023 20:33

Now that is a sad loss.

honeylulu · 24/05/2023 20:34

I only saw her tribute show in London on Sunday! I've been singing her songs ever since so feels really shocking that she has gone. Amazing singer and amazing lady. Love her, RIP.

So many wonderful people dying of late

People do tend to die when they’re old!

Sorrynotsorry2 · 24/05/2023 20:38

Gutting

Annasgirl · 24/05/2023 20:38

I saw her in concert when she was 69/70 - you would not believe her energy. I loved all her music. I used to like along and pretend I was her!!!

GettingStuffed · 24/05/2023 20:38

I thought she already had.

YoucancallmeKAREN · 24/05/2023 20:42

She went on stage with a broken jaw once thanks to Ike, and taught Mick Jagger some proper Moves. Bless her, what a woman.

Fabulous woman. A major part of the soundtrack of my youth. With thanks and love, Tina xx

AndrexPuppy · 24/05/2023 20:50

A powerhouse to the end.

Lifeomars · 24/05/2023 20:52

This has made me shed a few tears, what a stunningly inspirational woman, great singer, great dancer, incredible stage presence and so brave and beautiful too.

They often play her concerts on sky arts and she is amazing, I worked out she would have been early 70s in one of them and she can out perform her backing dancers/singers who are obviously all in their 20s

There is masses of her stuff on YouTube, she was breathtakingly brilliant, a total one off.
