Totter and tumble mat or alternative?

Pumpkinbumkin200 · 20/05/2023 20:16

We have a shaggy rug that has been better days with 2 young children around. 🤦🏼‍♀️has anyone got any recommendations for an easy clean rug? Are the T&T mats worth it? Or shall I just get a low pile rug to replace it.

I'm thinking of the potty training we will be doing in the near future and just general mess children bring.

Do they stain easily? Are they that not very nice plasticy playmat feel you get with the click together playmat squares?

We love ours. Bought in 2018 and still going strong. It feels lovely and springy underfoot.

peanutbuttertoasty · 20/05/2023 20:39

We love ours too. You can order samples to test the feel

Is a light colour one a good idea to will they stain easily? I prefer the lighter ones but don't want pens marks etc to stain them!

I’ve got a munchkin and bear one that I got in a flash sale at a ridiculous discount. It’s great.

MrsSamR · 20/05/2023 20:46

We have a T&T mat - it's really nice quality and people have commented not realising it's a playmat! They're double-sided too so you can change it up. We'll worth the money in my opinion.

MrsSamR · 20/05/2023 20:47

*well

unicornjewels · 20/05/2023 20:58

We have a T&T mat. It's fab, really thick and cushioned and easy to clean.

Lockdownmummy · 20/05/2023 21:19

Love it.

Went through a couple of rugs that got crappy/hard to keep clean. Wish we had just bitten the bullet and got T&T in the first place.

Same here and agree it’s great. Ours has cleaned up fine but it’s darker (on the side we’re using anyway).

sparklelikeadiamond · 20/05/2023 21:25

Got two of them. They’re brilliant

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 20/05/2023 21:56

Well worth it. Love ours

Boxofsockss · 20/05/2023 22:15

I have t&t and it’s brilliant. I clean it every night when my toddler goes to bed and it gives me piece of mind she has a clean play area. it’s comfortable too so it’s not a bother being on the floor with her for a long time. Definitely worth the money.

Pumpkinbumkin200 · 21/05/2023 08:12

Ok I've been influenced! Just bought one...hopefully with it.😬

@Pumpkinbumkin200 You won’t be disappointed 😊 We have The Scout and it’s still going strong after 2.5 years of heavy use. Well worth the money 😊

That's the one I bought too!

The only thing I don’t recommend doing is taking nail varnish off on it… the nail varnish remover took the print off it! 🙈 but I can’t even blame the kids for that one

Pumpkinbumkin200 · 21/05/2023 12:26

Ok thanks. I know you're not meant to use a normal hoover on it but can I use a handheld one with nozzle on for crumbs etc?

sparklelikeadiamond · 21/05/2023 14:03

I use my stick Dyson with the hard floor nozzle.

CakeIsNotAvailable · 21/05/2023 14:31

Interestingly a friend has one and I really don't like it - I find it uncomfortable, and the patterns are too "trendy" for my taste. But most people swear by them, so I am an outlier!

ml3jp · 21/05/2023 18:07

I had no idea you weren’t meant to vacuum them! Mine has been vacuumed multiple times a day (using a Dyson) for the last 5 years.

LulusMiniEgg · 21/05/2023 18:15

The girl who started T&T was in my Nct group, she’s lovely, please support her business! I don’t actually have a mat so can’t comment on them, but anyway! 😂

Is she rich now? Almost everyone I know seems to have one 😂

@Pumpkinbumkin200 🤣 I knew you wouldn’t be disappointed!! Use it!! Honestly, ours is currently 2.5 years of use every single day and looks like new!

Haha yay! I do find ours seems to accumulate 'bits' as we have wooden floors and it's in a bit of a through route but a quick hoover and it's holding up incredibly well considering how much use it gets!
