There’s reports in the press that Channel 5 are going to offer him a contract to front a rival programme to This Morning.

This. All that time and he just slinks off? There's more to be made public.

Do you think he will be mentioned tomorrow? They can't just ignore that he's gone can they?

Who is on tomorrow?

Alison and Dermot. Even if they just got called in yesterday I bet they will act like this was the plan all along (even though at the end of Thursday’s show Holly said “see you Monday”)

If anything it will be a generic thank you to Phil for all his years on TM, now let’s get on with the show

Why isn't Holly on?

She’s on holiday for half term.

Well Eamonn has spoken out this morning and I’m really glad he did so. Finally. TM was always so much better when he and Ruth were on.

My personal sense is that it's adjacent to the Philth story in some way

I think he knew Alison was being lined up to replace him and decided to make life difficult for her by leaking something about her private life to the sun, which she then had to cover up / distract from with the fake blackmail story

I love Eamonn, we need more people like him on the TV

It isn't half term until the end of May.

And she is getting 2 weeks off. London half term doesn't start until next week. Very convenient 🙄

They always take 2 weeks off for half term (I assume because the kids are in private school and they get longer holidays) but given she said see you on Monday, that this was unplanned.

Did anyone watch today? Has there been any mention of it? What about the opening credits as they always featured Holly and Phil even when it was different presenters?

Oh mine are off next week.

They didn't show any clips of presenters during the credits just showed London, traffic, the ITV studios.

Good those stupid photos looked like he had died.

Alison said they can't start the show without paying tribute to Phil. She must like him, she said we all know he's one of the best live tv broadcasters this country has ever had and we and all the team wish him the best for the future.

The fact he didn't report his brother straight away, makes me wonder what his brother knew about him. He obviously has tendencies himself and is guilty too.

And also "paying tribute" be hasn't died, how dramatic.
