Do you think he'll continue elsewhere or fade away?

@C1N1C I absolutely agree it is reprehensible, but let's say it was your son... There are many mothers in here and many sons; how many would stand by them? I personally wouldn't, but I have no son, so it is difficult to say, but I'm sure many still would.

I'm just saying I don't think you should be punished for loving a family member...

Standing by and loving a family member is not the same thing as knowing your family member is sexually assaulting someone and not doing anything about it. There is a VICTIM and so if you know about it and allow it to continue or hide the fact that your love one is doing something then you are an evil person who also deserves to face the law.

OneFrenchEgg · 21/05/2023 14:19

It's not that suspicious leaving like this. Like with MPs, if they can't make the story die down they either rode it out or leave. In this case there's been the runner rumours kicking around for ages and then the brother story has been the tipping point I think. His statement read out in court allowed for interpretation of whether he should have reported or asked more at the time his brother told him.

Windbeneathmybingowings · 21/05/2023 14:24

Isn’t his super injunction running out?

I’d imagine large a payout is in his near future if so.

For those still naive to it, this is not just about his brothers pedophile sex charge

Also the mail are reporting on MM again lately after all this time, so I’d imagine they are hotting up for some big reveal now that he is no longer in employment with ITV.

IamSlave · 21/05/2023 14:43

I thought itv said he would continue to present all the other huge shows he presents.

Windbeneathmybingowings · 21/05/2023 14:53

Let’s see how true that is…. This is just the first step at removal, and done to protect Hollys reputation. She can say now it was because of the brothers trial. If the story of MM came out while they were still working together, it paints her in an even muddier light as she worked with MM too.

he’s on his own now. Hence the “I’ve been done over” headlines. He kind of has. ITV knew and let it happen. Now they can say oh we already washed our hands of him.

OneFrenchEgg · 21/05/2023 15:10

I don't believe theres a super injunction; you can't hide from crime behind one. I suspect a pp is correct and if there is anything it will be an NDA. I also doubt very much the £30k a month/week on image management.

GrimDamnFanjo · 21/05/2023 15:39

It's all very strange and if you don't follow gossip online you'd be very confused.
I find it hard to believe that holly didn't know about the brothers trial as this had been gossiped about online.
But if she didn't then you wonder why she got upset! Was it because her family had close contact via Philip after he was arrested?

I think that eventually the rumoured hiring and firing of the young runner will come out and Holly is distancing herself now to avoid any fall out.

Windbeneathmybingowings · 21/05/2023 16:18

i am sure he will suggest no crime has taken place, but it is very strange he came out as gay just as he and MM fell out and was quickly moved to another show…

any Twitter search on “Philip Schofield Injunction” will lead you to the truth of the TM departure.

Samcro · 21/05/2023 16:21

Who is mm?

Windbeneathmybingowings · 21/05/2023 16:25

The runner he met when he was aged 10, who he was alleged to have a relationship with. MM worked on the show, until they fell out, just before PS came out. There are photos. There is no crime on the face of it but with not reporting his brothers own grooming, it does look decidedly more shady.

Samcro · 21/05/2023 16:27

Thanks

JenniferBooth · 21/05/2023 16:42

Martin Daubney mentioned Schofield and the runner on GB News earlier. First time ive seen it mentioned on TV TalkTV are just going to start discussing PS now.

MyDecadent70sArmpits · 21/05/2023 16:43

I can’t help but wonder that the tide of public and tabloid’s opinion turned against them both when they jumped the queue to see the Queen’s coffin. How perfectly quintessentially British that you can (reportedly) crack on with all sorts of dodgy shenanigans for years and everyone turns a blind eye but if you queue jump BAM! You’re done for sunshine.

Womencanlift · 21/05/2023 16:47

The silence of the ITV “family” about him leaving speaks volumes. Even Holly’s contractually obliged acknowledgement was not heart felt for someone who was her best friend apparently until recently

If reports are to be believed there is so much more to it than queue gate and his brother and as others have said the coming out announcement was a likely cover for a bigger story. As it’s been reported a lot on some sites, covid/lockdown saved him from some press which is all starting to come out now

JenniferBooth · 21/05/2023 16:48

Caroline Flack THEN covid saved him some press

There Are Some Things Up With Which We Will Not Put.

GB News?

Windbeneathmybingowings · 21/05/2023 17:06

This is definitely conspiracy level thinking but did we ever find out who was blackmailing Alison Hammond? It seems such a strange turn of events…

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 21/05/2023 17:09

TheSpottedZebra · 20/05/2023 16:59

He was well known for being 'handsy'.
Which is obviously a minimising euphemism for sexual assault. This is at work.

And he was well known at bars and clubs for being dreadful, one to avoid. You'd get pushed up against the wall and -assaulted.

But sure. All the women were throwing themselves at the big man, aye.

Indeed. I was not on the receiving end but rescued someone who was. There was no ‘throwing of self’.

readbooksdrinktea · 21/05/2023 17:15

C1N1C · 20/05/2023 17:36

I think this is unfair. Sure, the rest of the world can judge a paedophile, but I don't think anyone has the right to criticise someone for sticking by a family member.

Nope. Anyone standing by child abusers deserve all the criticism in the world.

IamSlave · 21/05/2023 17:15

Itv said he's facing up some new big prime time show.
I think we need differently faces and new year talent

I would put money on it that this big new show never materialises. Probably said either to make him go without too much fuss and not releasing any secrets about his colleagues

Worldhasgonenuts · 21/05/2023 17:55

I doubt he’ll present a new show…surely not

It * Was weird with the Alison Hammond thing…

RedToothBrush · 21/05/2023 18:03

Mindymomo · 20/05/2023 15:41

There’s more to come, The Daily Mail has had a hate campaign on the pair of them, there must be more to come out.

I think this is where I'm at.

Lots of not so subtle insinuating going on from social media, people involved in the past with Schofield and the newspapers.

All saying something but nothing and looking very much like they are avoiding legals.
