What cheeses do you have in your fridge? In search of exciting new cheese

Yesterday, I got some Bleu d'Auvergne for the first time. We are really enjoying it. Have never met a blue cheese I didn't like, but when grocery shopping tend to always go for Roquefort/ Danish Blue/ Cashel Blue, all firm favourites.

But I want to get more adventurous! What do you have in your fridge that you really recommend?

Love all cheeses so needn't be blue. All ideas welcome Smile

Not currently in my fridge but I love Harlech cheese. It has a horseradishy taste

Where can you get this please? You've sold me on the horseradish flavour!

Ossau-Iraty (a bit Manchego like) and Baron Bigod (Brie on steroids) are good.

@TheApplianceofScience I used to live in Bungay, I know it well, also vaguely know the owners. Love The baron, Lush stuff!

Love Cropwell Bishop Stilton, there's an ordinary mature cheddar, cambiozola, some St Agur for DP and a white stilton with blueberries left by my sister when she visited. And oatcakes and salty crackers. I adore boursin, but that's a treat, as only I eat it.

Oh the shame, the shame.

DS had friends over for a burger before they went out, they had JS TTD burgers, with brioche buns, TTD coleslaw and one of the little scrotes, nipped to the Coop and bought plastic cheese and worse left it in my fridge. 😱

The dog enjoyed it. Grin

plastic cheese is the best burger cheese in my opinion.

The cheese I'd love to have in my fridge is Gaperon, which I used to stuff my face on every summer in the Auvergne. But can I get it anywhere? I think you'd have to live in London or near a super fancy cheesemonger to find it.

My late aunt lived in the Auvergne and I used to love Cantal, esp in aligot (mashed potatoes and cheese, in case anyone's wondering, but mash and cheese as made by the angels in heaven. Calling it mash is a bit like saying Yves St Laurent ran up the odd frock). Now going on a hunt for a UK supplier.

Domestic supplies topped up yesterday - now have Wensleydale, St Agur (thanks to the pp who recommended that) and goats' cheese. Plus the ubiquitous Jarlsberg slices.

I live in Geneva so eat far too much cheese. Right now I love :
brillât-savarin
tomme au foin
brie with truffle
délice de Bourgogne
24-month aged gruyère
