Where would you go?

Was talking to my DP last night, and I said that my choice would be North Wales because its my absolutely favourite place and I dont think I would ever get bored of it.

OP posts:

Mudeford (down south) or Mablethorpe on the Lincolnshire coast

Is keep quiet about that if were you. It's not a very PC thing to do.

As you don’t know our circumstances, maybe it’s you that should keep quiet.

North Antrim coast, Northern Ireland. The beaches are stunning and I love it there.

Overtherainbow9 · 30/04/2023 10:52

Anglesey

MikeWozniaksMohawk · 30/04/2023 10:57

Anglesey ❤️

Tricky as I've loved everywhere we've ever been but probably Yorkshire or Norfolk if I HAD to choose.

tailinthejam · 30/04/2023 10:58

Hunstanton and the north Norfolk coast. It is close enough for us to go for the day, but we have spent holidays there too.

One place I really loved was on Hayling Island - a holiday park I went to with my parents in the 70's, and we found it again when my own dc were small. We carried on going there nearly every year until lockdown. During that and the following year, the place was bought out, given a complete makeover and utterly ruined by the new owners. I can't face ever going back there again and it grieves me.

London. So many different areas, parks and green space if you want them, shops museums, and it's so good for just walking around and taking it in.

I live in the north west so don't go often.

Why is it not pc? I think it's lovely that @DoggosAloud did that.

Willmafrockfit · 30/04/2023 11:01

also snowdonia

LouBaloo · 30/04/2023 11:03

Barra, it’s my favourite place in the world.

GremlinDolphin4 · 30/04/2023 11:07

Northumberland!

ZittiEBuoni · 30/04/2023 11:08

London for me too - I live in one of the places mentioned on this thread, so I get all the beaches, scenery etc. I need day to day.

Frankley · 30/04/2023 11:11

North Wales or Swanage, depending on what sort of holiday.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 30/04/2023 11:12

Scotland. All of it.

Movinghouseatlast · 30/04/2023 11:15

South East Cornwall- Polperro or Fowey. Amazing food, scenery like the Mediterranean in places, fab beaches. I also love St Ives for the same reasons but it gets so busy in the summer.

Gothambutnotahamster · 30/04/2023 11:17

Portrush

SittingOnTheChair · 30/04/2023 11:21

Scotland. If I had to be specific either Glencoe or Barra.

Member589500 · 30/04/2023 11:24

London.

DinosaurOfFire · 30/04/2023 11:24

Exmoor for me. I fell in love with it as a child and take my kids there now as an adult- I could happily have that is my only holiday destination. There's so much to see and explore and the views are beautiful.

lljkk · 30/04/2023 11:25

I'm leaning towards rural Shropshire, but...

It's impossible because my needs & interests now are different from what they might be in 20 years. Maybe then I can't travel so far as I can now as easily. And then there are other tourists to think about, who wants to go somewhere overcrowded, plus would it be any season or what... So much of UK I've not really seen enough of to know: Cornwall, Scilly, south Wales, Norn, Scottish highlands, Channel islands, Hebrides, South Downs, Malvern ...

yeah yeah I know overthinking it.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/04/2023 11:25

London, no deliberation at all.

Why is it not pc? I think it's lovely that @DoggosAloud did that.

Because with all the second homes that are bought in the SW mean that it's very difficult for locals to buy. Also the places may be left empty most of the year and so there's no community, no one to spend money at the local shop and they become like ghost towns. Salcombe in Devon is a prime example.

OP it would either be Snowdonia or the very end of Cornwall. But I'd hate to never be able to go abroad for proper, reliable sunshine.

unvillage · 30/04/2023 12:49

The Shropshire Hills for sure

YouveGotToGrooveIt · 30/04/2023 12:51

Cairngorms. Cairngorms. Cairngorms.
