Graham Norton on two separate occasions in Selfridges. He was very tanned, small and neat.
Jonathan Ross years ago at Alton Towers or Flamingo Land with his family, our paths kept on crossing by chance. I never speak to people I recognise but he was very smiley when we crossed glances. They looked like a happy, fun family.
Jeremy Paxman quite a lot in the 90s. We were waiting to collect daughters from the same school. He quite often did the pick up ; presumably it fitted with Newsnight hours. We would sometimes exchange the usual idle chitchat and he once admired my dog when he spotted him in the back of my car. Very normal and pleasant.
Gordon Ramsey in the Breitling Shop down Bond Street.
A famous, knighted former England manager opened the door for me in Fenwicks, Bond Street last year with a nice smile. I didn’t know who he was and can’t remember his name now but DH recognised him and told me who it was after.
Rio Ferdinand with current wife (then girlfriend) and a big family group in Wildfire Restaurant in Vilamoura. Everyone politely left them alone.
I’ve shared the same pool as Nico Rosberg and been a sun lounger away from Christian Horner at the Ritz Carlton in Singapore. At the same hotel we breakfasted at the next table to Bernie Ecclestone and Chase Carey and others I didn’t recognise and we heard highly confidential conversation about F1 plans that were not public knowledge for some time. I’m amazed they’d talk so openly in a public space. Oh and I was very close to Daniel Riccardo in the same hotel as he exited a lift I was waiting for.
I was awkwardly marooned in a room at Leeds Bradford airport with Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont, both of whose work I liked. They will have been plonked there as slebs, to give them privacy, and I was plonked there to wait for the Ambilift as I was travelling with DD2 who needs a wheelchair. Jon Richardson looked a bit wary I think but not unpleasant at all. He’s probably shy and was scared of being cornered with no escape. Lucy was as you’d expect; very friendly and relaxed. They were flying to Menorca for the first time with their little girl. I had seen Lucy before with their daughter was in a sling and Humber Street Gallery cafe in Hull. Very cute baby. I didn’t speak to her then. It was 2013 which I can hardly believe! Lucy is small, pretty and has lovely skin. On both occasions she had that thrown-together boho cool look which translates to hobo uncool look on me if I attempt it.
