Rick Astley - friend of a friend, Mick Hucknel - cheese shop, Princess Kate - walking around, That woman.... what's her name....husband is Percy.....Joan Colins! That's it - in Harrods, Louise Redknapp although she's hardly famous, several footballers because they live around here, Keanu Reeves - walking in London, Bill Nighy - walking in London, Matt Lucas - walking in London. Others but I can't be bothered to think.

Elijah Wood. His eyes are HUGE in real life. He almost looks like a cartoon character. We made eye contact a few times and it was like he was looking into my soul it was so intense.

He was possible alarmed that you kept staring at him if you made eye contact several times 😂

Mamadothehump · 26/04/2023 07:57

Brad Pitt in legoland

We had corporate seats at Wimbledon in 2015 (I think - it was the year Kate wore a red dress) and we got insanely close to loads of people. Kate and William, Gary Lineker and David Beckham were the most famous, but also Bear Grylls, Zara and Mike Tindall and others!

I once organised an ITV meeting that involved David Jason - I was told that he wanted to be incognito and then we had to evacuate while he was there because builders set the fire alarm off. I think that's my best one outside of Wimbledon (which is probably cheating). Dh's is Gwen Stefani in a restaurant in London.

Zsa zsa gabor in Frankfurt airport
Jeremy Vine in queue for pancakes at the fringe. Same day saw Nicholas Parsons sitting alone in a pub.
Madonna filming the Wallis movie at a National trust property. I have a photo of DS in buggy with her in background.

The first morning I was in New York back in the 1980s, I saw Woody Allen and Mia Farrow out for a walk.
About 10 years later, I had arrived for the first time in LA and sat in a diner, and Quentin Tarantino came in and ordered a milkshake.
Through work I have "met" (ie, seen or exchanged very few words with) many famous people. Robbie Williams, Hugh Grant, Tim Burton, Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore, Morgan Freeman, David Beckham, Roger Federer, Boris Becker, Martina Navratilova, Ariane Grande, Emma Thompson, Backstreet Boys, Jon Bon Jovi...and quite a few more.
Wow, that was a real name drop post.
But then...you did ask...

Simon Cowell was sitting at the next table to me in Harrods when I was having afternoon tea for my mums 60th.

Samcro · 26/04/2023 08:11

Chris Eubank outside Churchill square in Brighton. Captain Sensible used to go in same pub as me. Dame vera lyn (actually met her) and DH has met the King.

goingtotown · 26/04/2023 08:11

Nicholas Cage at BA airport.

Snozzlemaid · 26/04/2023 08:11

Was on a flight with Jennie Bond last week.

And used to live not far from Dick Strawbridge so would often see him in our local small supermarket.

FettleOfKish · 26/04/2023 08:14

Oh the post about Elijah Wood's eyes reminded me, I've met Jonathan Rhys-Meyers too, spent an evening with him years and years ago.

His eyes could honestly cut through glass, they're like lasers. I've never seen anything like it before or since.

Mistymoonsinastarrysky · 26/04/2023 08:14

The lovely Sir Ian McKellan asked if he could share my table at Paddington Station , he sat and chatted whilst we had a coffee. Absolutely charming man.

Phineyj · 26/04/2023 08:16

Alan Davies, sitting a few rows in front of me at a play in Islington. He has such lovely hair!!

JustDanceAddict · 26/04/2023 08:17

If we are talking about ‘random’ occurrences:
Victoria Wood in a cafe (was lovely, we chatted)
david baddiel in central London - literally bumped into him (my DCs also saw him recently in a cafe)
Steve McFadden (Phil from EE) ‘around’
Cliff Parisi (EE and CTM) in Tesco
Andy Bell (Erasure) in a pub

I am really bad at Celeb spotting though!!

JustDanceAddict · 26/04/2023 08:18

Forgot Captain Sensible at an airport after a school trip. I got his autograph!!

33goingon64 · 26/04/2023 08:18

Pippa Middleton. Louis Walsh. Juliet Stevenson. Alison Steadman. All in the same small area of South Kensington!

Phineyj · 26/04/2023 08:18

Oh, I don't know if he counts as famous really but I sat next to Chris Smith MP at dinner once.

He spent the whole dinner talking about electoral stuff. It was, er....dull.

DRS1970 · 26/04/2023 08:18

The Queen I guess.

33goingon64 · 26/04/2023 08:20

People saying The Queen - whilst out and about? I saw her at a royal garden party but that's not accidental! Did you really pass her in the street??

33goingon64 · 26/04/2023 08:22

Almost forgot my favourite - Peter Stringfellow on the EasyJet transfer bus!!

BeetleBailey · 26/04/2023 08:22

I saw Tupac a couple of years ago in Miami Beach
