Jennifer Aniston in Covent garden. Tiny and glossy.
Eric Clapton in Prada. Scruffy and normal looking.

Velvian · 26/04/2023 06:38

Jay Kay of Jamiriquai in Nandos, he pulled up outside in a Ferrari and then left very noisily.

autumn1610 · 26/04/2023 06:39

Colleen Rooney and a couple of her kids. Was stood behind her in passport control and then by the luggage carousel. Just came off a night flight and they were on holiday so didn’t say anything to them

Meadowfly · 26/04/2023 06:40

The Queen (proper one, not new one).
clarkson in a pub. Dawn French on a footpath. Prince Philip, driving (alarming).

MinnieMountain · 26/04/2023 06:40

William and Kate in Burnham Market.

MattDamon · 26/04/2023 06:41

Elijah Wood. His eyes are HUGE in real life. He almost looks like a cartoon character. We made eye contact a few times and it was like he was looking into my soul it was so intense.

ForTheSakeOfThePenguin · 26/04/2023 06:42

The Queen, came down from a car a few steps from where we were. No fuss, no crowds and hardly any police around!

I had a conversation with Louis Walsh not remembering where I knew him from, same happened with Tom Jones who I thought was part of a tribute act to… Tom Jones 🤣

Livebythecoast · 26/04/2023 06:43

Paul O'grady (RIP 💔) in Waitrose, Hythe - very pleasant and friendly.

I booked Steve Redgrave and the rowing team flights to the Seoul Olympics 1988 in Marlow when I worked in a travel agent aged 17 - not so pleasant and friendly.

Davestwattymissus · 26/04/2023 06:45

Brian Ferry (in a restaurant in Notting Holl)
Noel Gallagher (also in a restaurant in Notting Hill
Woody Allen and Soon Yi (walked past us in Barcelona)
Sean Connery (nearly ran him over in Kensington)
Damien Lewis (Portobello market)
Debbie Harry (in a hotel lift)

Also Boris in a restaurant but I'd rather not think about that

pharmachameleon · 26/04/2023 06:52

Brad Pitt in a parking lot in Los Angeles with a few huge bodyguards. He was about to walk into a red carpet outside a movie theatre. I didn't think would be star struck but my legs turned to jelly
and my heart rate shot up!
Sting and Trudi in the Chiltern Firehouse in London. He looked amazing-healthy, sexy and wealthy 😂

Klex · 26/04/2023 06:54

I'd think you'd have to define "most famous". I grew up in a small town that's world famous and attracts a lot of celebrities to visit.

Steve Redgrave got mildly annoyed with me because I didn't recognise him, Ian Wright called me "darling", ate in same restaurant as Tom Hanks, passed Bill Clinton on the street (who admired our three labs)...
DF thinks the best person he's ever met in town is Alan Shearer (mad Newcastle United fan).

Outside of my home town it's mainly Royal Family, all of whom were in relation to work.

Eyesopenwideawake · 26/04/2023 06:54

I saw Charles and Diana at Brixton police station. I was on a bus so no opportunity to chat...

AvrilApril · 26/04/2023 06:54

Colleen Rooney and her boys in Disneyland Paris a couple of months ago.

Bill Nighy (sp?) in London a couple of years ago, he looked utterly stylish.

johnny rotten in a Spanish airport when I was 16

Will smith in New York when I was 17.

lollipoprainbow · 26/04/2023 06:54

Brian ferry and his family having dinner in a pub at the next table to us years ago!

GeorgeGerald · 26/04/2023 06:55

Meera Syal

On the tube in London a few year ago, we were travelling in the same fairly empty carriage. She seemed quite interested when I told DS to stop zipping his coat up around the pole - probably thought I was being a grumpy cow (I was), that was when I spotted her (but pretended not to of course).

Seen a few other celebrities but not really out and about.

Klex · 26/04/2023 06:57

Oh and I almost ran over Simon Amstel when he walked out in front of my car ( my light was green!) at the Edinburgh Fringe.

spanieleyes · 26/04/2023 06:57

Paul Daniels retrieved a golf ball from my garden.

Mrsbadger77 · 26/04/2023 06:59

William and Kate in Birmingham last week

Klex · 26/04/2023 07:01

Oh and Brian May as his wife Anita Dobson was performing in a Fringe play that was before the show I was going to see.

Shook my hand but didn't have time to chat.

RhubarbFairy · 26/04/2023 07:01

The Queen Mother opened our RSPCA vets when I was a teenager in the 90s. She was tiny.

I collided with Chris Evans (Virgin DJ, not Capt. America) in Chinatown in London, also in the 90s (Don't Forget Your Toothbrush era). We were both going round a corner in opposite directions, and neither of us was looking where we were going as we were each talking to who we were with. Very tall!

Noel Edmunds twice, but that was because I went to a Deal or No Deal taping twice. The first time I was Pilgrim of the Day, picked because my friend worked on the crew (got to see the room the Banker sat in during my tour too). He was lovely and I made him laugh.

Cuba Gooding Jr. walked past me on a side street just off Times Square in 1998.

Sid Owen at The Blue Rooms in Bath. He was arrogant and shoved his way to the front of the bar queue. So my friend shouted 'Riiiiiccckkkkkaaaayyy' at his back. He looked pissed off about that. Self-fulfilling prophecy. He was very 'do you know who I am'. Yes, we do, but you can't have it both ways. Saw him coming out of Loch Fyne restaurant in Bath in the middle of the day on another occasion.

Tom Baker (Dr Who), though I had to be told who he was as he was before my time. Also in Bath.

MrsMoastyToasty · 26/04/2023 07:03

Jacob Rees Mogg and one of his sons in our local high street (but he was canvassing for the general election as our local MP).
Prince Michael of Kent at a petrol station in the cotswolds.

DibbleDooDah · 26/04/2023 07:03

Keanu Reeves in March. He just came into my local pub in Tring for lunch out the blue. Lovely man.

Ian Hislop many years ago by Euston Square Station. Swinging his little case thing and beaming from ear to ear (just how I imagined him).

I used to work around the corner from Liam Gallagher in Marylebone. Whenever we walked past each other he’d give me an “alright?”. So funny.

I also spent many years working in the music industry so met lots of other pop stars but that doesn’t count as I didn’t bump into them randomly.

ThisIsTrifficult · 26/04/2023 07:04

Judy dench in a little kitchen-y shop in westerham. I'm tiny and she was shorter than me!
I didn't speak, just admired a peeler nearby.

betsyannegrey · 26/04/2023 07:05

Quite a few over the years.
Daniel Day Lewis
Jon Voight
Ricky Gervaise
Mr Big from SATC
Helena Christianson and Michael Hutchence
Christy Turlington
Matt Damon
Blake Lively
Bono

Some to chat to, some just in passing. We used to live in an area where a lot of visiting celebs would stay.

According to my dc our best celebrity encounter was when Jackie Chan had a kick around in a car park with my 2 little boys!

user4750 · 26/04/2023 07:06

Jude law on the sunbed opposite me. That was a nice afternoon.
