Well that's us buggered in an emergency. Anyone else in the same boat and didn't get it delivered to their phone?

I got the alert at 3pm yesterday...... then again in early hours of this morning! 1.39am to be precise. Couldn't get back to sleep for ages after. Did anyone else get this?

PuckleP · 24/04/2023 07:07

Didn't get the alert yesterday, but got one at 3am this morning. All time settings are correct on my phone, my little village near Bristol obviously has its own time zone 🤔. Good job I'm not at work today as I haven't been able to get back to sleep

''@SheilaFentiman · Yesterday 15:42

So another useless and ill-planned initiative then...
It was a test: part of testing is to see what needs to be fixed.''

That's not how testing works...

By the time you try something on the entire public you would have ironed most of the issues behind the scene with sample testing.

Entire/several mobile networks did not receive the message at all.

That's a big fuck-up no more no less.

“Entire/several mobile networks did not receive the message at all.”

it seems, from the press, that the largest fuck up was by Three, sending the alert once to each phone rather than continuously until it was received.

I assume a whole bunch of smaller tests were done and bugs ironed out, but fundamentally, you can’t know if something is going to work for millions of phones and thousands of phone/network/coverage permutations without sending a test to those millions of phones.
