Well that's us buggered in an emergency. Anyone else in the same boat and didn't get it delivered to their phone?

OP posts:
DeflatedAgain · 23/04/2023 16:19

I didn't get it DH and MIL did but I would be screwed 🤣

teenagetantrums · 23/04/2023 16:19

I got it 4 times in giff gaff. My DP on 02 didn't get anything

Pestispeeved · 23/04/2023 16:20

Another one on £ who did not get it.

My family all got it (Giff Gaff, O2), they have pointed out that I am the designated non-survivor.

gogohmm · 23/04/2023 16:21

It didn't work on 3 network apparently

Cookerhood · 23/04/2023 16:21

3 of us here, all on O2. 2 got it, one didn't.

Dixiechickonhols · 23/04/2023 16:22

No me and daughter on 3 didn’t. Husband on different network did.

Veryverycalmnow · 23/04/2023 16:25

I didn't get it!

Didn't get the emergency alert at 3pm!

Ds and I didn't receive it either and we are both Three network. Everyone else did! Albeit a minute early.

Same here. I gather most of the problems have been with people using Three.

Unlike some, I don't see this as a failure at all. The point of testing something is to see whether something works and, if not, to work out why and how to avoid similar problems in the future.

Willyoujustbequiet · 23/04/2023 16:29

Only 2 out of 4 of us got it. Samsung new models on 02

gogohmm · 23/04/2023 16:30

If you didn't receive it, firstly check your settings that you haven't turned off alerts. Secondly were you in a 4g or 5g coverage area at 3pm? If not you won't have received it. If neither check with your network provider, whilst we hope we'll never need these in real life, for those of us in flood area for instance they could be useful if waters rise quicker than expected, also situations like that reservoir that was close to breaching or sadly a gunman/terrorist in a particular area. We have sirens locally too, used for chemical escape alerts as there's factories under 2 miles from us and a large aviation fuel depot.

yohohoandabottleofrum · 23/04/2023 16:30

I've just been out to the park with my DC and heard someone's phone go off with it at 16.15! Mine came through at 14.59

Icantbelieveitsnot · 23/04/2023 16:30

Three network has had problems with all sorts of notifications coming through since before Christmas (but are denying any problem exists). So this may be related.

gogohmm · 23/04/2023 16:30

The test has been very successful as it's demonstrated where the problems are, that's what tests are for.

TenoringBehind · 23/04/2023 16:31

I got it at 2:59 on my phone and my work phone
dh got it at 3:01
ds1 had disabled it
ds2 never got it

Willyoujustbequiet · 23/04/2023 16:32

My alerts are greyed out so no scope to turn on or off.

Rang Samsung....they didn't know why or how to fix it.

Upwiththelark76 · 23/04/2023 16:34

I didn’t get it. Three network

Mollypolly2610 · 23/04/2023 16:34

I got one at 3pm and one again at 3.15pm. My DH only got one. We are both on the same network but he is android and I am Iphone.

Sunbird24 · 23/04/2023 16:35

Two phones in my house, neither got it. One’s an iPhone that was connected to the wifi (3, 5g) with alerts enabled and the other is an older Samsung (work phone) on EE that I have no idea if that’s even an option.

milveycrohn · 23/04/2023 16:38

My DH (sitting next to me) got it 1 minute early;
My DS (sitting opposite me, got it 3 minutes later;
I did not get it at all. (We are all on the same network)

This may help some...

Android 11 was less than three years ago? That's going to miss a lot of people even if it did work across all networks.

Well,y alerts are in and didn't get it 🤷‍♀️

Bigboysmademedoit · 23/04/2023 16:47

6 phones, mix of networks, not one alarm for any of us. In an emergency we’ll all go down together 🤦‍♀️

00100001 · 23/04/2023 16:48

I can imagine it is to do with traffic?

Sending what? A message to hundreds of millions of devices at same time? There's going to be problems! Mostly delays?

Better late than never??
