Well that's us buggered in an emergency. Anyone else in the same boat and didn't get it delivered to their phone?

So another useless and ill-planned initiative then...

You do know what a test is, right?

tsmainsqueeze · 23/04/2023 17:15

I switched it off, husband got it , daughter who is same network ,same company got hers over 1 minute later.

SapphireSeptember · 23/04/2023 17:25

I didn't, but apparently phones that aren't smart phones don't get them, so that's (some) old people and technophobes buggered then! 😭

KaftanKate · 23/04/2023 17:25

Bang on time here. Alarm and message. Android, EE.

LovelyDayInnit · 23/04/2023 17:26

Three phones in this house. Different types. Different networks. We didn't get it either.

ilovemydogandmrobama2 · 23/04/2023 17:28

Another on Three Network who didn't get it.

Maybe Three could come on here and have a web chat?

skyeisthelimit · 23/04/2023 17:28

According to our local paper, lots of people won't get it for various reasons (and Three customers didn't get it for some unknown reason)

older iphones
older androids
anyone on airplane mode
if not on 4g or 5g

some people got it bang on time and some got it 20 minutes later. My neighbour joked was it alphabetical as we are opposite ends of the alphabet

Gourmetfelix · 23/04/2023 17:28

I didn't get it, Samsung, on 3 and in London

ifonly4 · 23/04/2023 17:29

Mine (Samsung/Tesco network) was in my locker at work, switched on and emergency alerts enabled. I didn't get it (DH did on same phone/network), but my colleagues locker below and behind mine had alerts.

DD just messaged me, she (iphone) nor her friend had it either.

I was on shop floor at the time, one phone went off at 2.58pm, the majority at 3-3.02 but I heard one go off around 3.06pm.

maddy68 · 23/04/2023 17:31

Nor do a

Ichosetheredpill · 23/04/2023 17:32

My fried cracked me up earlier. She messaged me to say she hadn’t had the alert so she’s clearly not on the designated list of survivors 😂

Ichosetheredpill · 23/04/2023 17:32

*friend 🙄

Sgtmajormummy · 23/04/2023 17:34

We’re on holiday here in the UK with Italian roaming and all 3 phones got the alert at 3.00.
It nearly gave DH a heart attack. He was driving and thought the hire car was going berserk!
I’d watched the news last night so realised what it was.

The alphabetical thing happened in Japan.

MattTebbuttsDenimShirt · 23/04/2023 17:35

Nothing here. Thankfully. Stupid idea.

dertex · 23/04/2023 17:35

5 of us here.
2 sons (one on Talkmobile, one on Tesco) both got it at 2:58
Husband (Talkmobile) at 3:00

Me (Talkmobile) at 3:01
Daughter (on Three) didn't get it at all!

fetchacloth · 23/04/2023 17:36

I got my alert at 2.59pm on EE.
Apparently the Three network was down so anyone on that network may not have received their alert.
I guess that's why these things are tested.

dawngreen · 23/04/2023 17:37

I guess we all need new phones then. And there was me thinking all had the latest iPhone etc except us.

Yellowdays · 23/04/2023 17:39

No alert by 5.38. O2.

halliessa · 23/04/2023 17:39

No, didn't get it.

skyeisthelimit · 23/04/2023 17:40

I don't know what happened in Japan, I was just repeating my neighbours comment as she is on the same network as me yet got hers 20 minutes after mine.

Yellowdays · 23/04/2023 17:41

My iPhone is less than 2 years old. So you need a newer phone than that to receive it? What numpty dreamt this up?

LlynTegid · 23/04/2023 17:41

Another example of government incompetence in my opinion. Testing on a Sunday when there is less support available than a weekday. Anyone who has ever had to seek help for an IT matter or website down will tell you that.

House of Commons Library report says only 92% have 4G data coverage. so if it did not include 3G, then another piece of stupidity.

And I thought Tony Blair's government was useless on IT projects.

Aishah231 · 23/04/2023 17:41

I want to know why the government is wasting money on this bollocks. How is an alert message going to help anyone. News already travels fast these days. If money was easy to come by maybe but in the current situation I'd rather those millions were going into public services.

Strangelisa · 23/04/2023 17:43

vodafone. 15.01. I was in Primark at the time. The first sound started at 14.59 then there was another lot around 15.09
