After the death of Paul o Grady it occurred to me I've never heard anyone say a bad word about him before or after death- ditto George Michael
Other celebs I can think of are David Attenborough and Peter Kay
Are there any others?

Those saying Keanu Reeves - up until recently I would have agreed, but I read Matthew Perry's autobiography and he is nasty about Keanu in passing several times but doesn't expand on why.

Maybe Perry was the problem.

David Attenborough is so completely wonderful. He's 96 so he's not going to be with us for too much longer. I can't imagine him not being here. 🙁

Johnny Marr and Paul Heaton seem like thoroughly good blokes.

Definitely Keanu and Dolly.

You've literally mentioned the two I can't stand Grin if Attenbrough comes on the TV, I'll turn it over. Cannot stand the man.

I think a few people have already said Tom Hanks. Maybe Bill Nighy.

Love Bill Nighy, agree about Attenbrough, something off with him. I like his documentries though!

I'd like to add Kate Galloway to a PP's Ben Shephard (though she can come across as a bit scatty sometimes).

Also echo Andi Peters who I thought stood up well against Piers Morgan's barbs. Andi also stood up for himself strongly but politely when Jason Gardiner was a judge. Gardiner came across as a nasty piece of work on that show, often making personal comments on the contestants, and I'm glad he's no longer there. 🌹

Oh and Rylan. I hope he doesn't have anything in his closet that I don't know about. He's definitely in the running for becoming a National Treasure.

SoShallINever · 22/04/2023 09:08

Graham Norton

notveryspeedy · 22/04/2023 09:08

Has Matt Baker been mentioned yet?

Shodan · 22/04/2023 09:08

Admittedly I skimmed the thread but I can't see any mention of national treasure Dame Judi Dench?!

passthegingordon · 22/04/2023 09:09

Michael Sheen and Paul Kaye.

And Alexander Armstrong!

Not me I'm afraid. Heard a nasty story from someone who did some work in his house. He rather horridly played around about whether he was going to pay them (work was fine). His wife told him not to be a dick and just pay up! Never liked his on screen simpering ever since.

ONJ was an absolute angel.

Yes! A beautiful person, inside and out. She has been the only "sleb" I've ever cried for when I heard she'd passed away! A massive loss! She had real sense of responsibility to do good with her fame and fortune and constantly put others before herself. Even having to lie down on her dressing room floor after concerts due to the pain from her cancer, before she went backstage to sign autographs, etc. And performing (nearly breaking down on stage) on the day she heard her young Goddaughter had died of cancer! Seeing that on Youtube even now causes me tears, but she'd been brought up with the "the show must go on" can-do attitude from her parents. She truly was an "angel".

Sienna Miller & Jenifer Aniston

Really shows how special Paul was.

I’d say Ryan Gosling. Maybe not universally loved but nothing negative either.

This has been deleted by MNHQ as it was the work of a previously banned poster.

Not sure about this one at all - he handcuffed, beat and imprisoned a young male escort back in 2009. Hard to lionise someone after that.

Sir Trevor McDonald.

I haven't rtft so not sure if anyone has mentioned her but I've only ever seen absolutely lovely things said about Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy) by people who have worked with her. She would stick up for cast and crew, tell the bosses 'no' on their behalf and take new people under her wing.

Pedro Pascal had a bit part in the series where Buffy is at college and he said she was incredibly kind, made him feel welcome and looked after him. That wasn't her job, but playing the titular role gave her some power, and she used it to help others on set.
