7.30pm on a Friday night...

(Ok, 7.39pm but...) I've finished most of what I had to do at work, called my DM, tidied the kitchen. DH is putting DS to bed, I've open a bottle of white, homemade lasagne for tea and it's my film choice so we're watching Empire of Light. What's happening where you are??

Its only just coming up to 5pm here, East Coast US. Im putting in a dominos order that DS will pick up on his way back from getting DD from sports practice after school. DH is away with friends so we are taking the chance to have pizza (he doesnt like it takeaway as he says it gets cold and clidgie sp?). The other two DSs are at boarding school and University and both have things planned with friends tonight. I have a nice bottle of red wine breathing and we will eat pizza and start watching Call the Midwife (not sure DS will join us for that bit though 🤣)

Away for work today (late finish) so enjoying a luxurious solo evening of long bath, face mask, zero football, uninterrupted browsing of internet, but mainly blissful silence.

Stirring the rice for home made curry. Just poured first glass of wine for me and DH. Waiting for Gardeners World to start at 8pm.
This has been our routine on a Friday night for forever (and we’ve been married for over 30 years).
Not sure it was always Gardeners World who had the Friday night spot - I remember watching Gay Search Front Gardens but there has always been a gardening program on a Friday night on the Beeb.
