7.30pm on a Friday night...

(Ok, 7.39pm but...) I've finished most of what I had to do at work, called my DM, tidied the kitchen. DH is putting DS to bed, I've open a bottle of white, homemade lasagne for tea and it's my film choice so we're watching Empire of Light. What's happening where you are??

Going to tell 9 year old to start getting ready for bed at 8:15pm, then make him a hot chocolate and read him a chapter of his book before bed. After that I have a theology book I need to start reading.

Girls night here. Visited dd2 in hospital in neonatal earlier. She's chilling in an incubator so warmer than me and dd1 are here at home even though I've got fire on.

Dd1 and me watching a movie and she and her DH got snacks earlier for us to enjoy. DH at a concert tonight with his brother. Not sure if I'm picking him up earlier or if he is staying the night at his mum's.

I did a workout in YouTube. Home alone dh is at work. Adult dss sometimes stay at weekends but not this one Ordered a chicken kebab and salad. Ate that whilst watching old series of the Dog house. I've done washing today and other chores. Did 24 hour shift yesterday. Am off for ages now and doing a long distance walk next week so be sorting my bag out later and tomorrow.

papers. Tidied up a huge mess after our pizza dinner. Wrangled the kids into bed. Washed hair. Opened wine. Listened to Backstreet Boys. Same

I'm lying in a dark room with DC3 (4) so he'll go to sleep. DH is putting DC2 (8) to bed. DC1 (11) has just had a shower and is downstairs watching YouTube waiting for me to watch She Hulk Attorney at Law with him, then he can go to bed and I can make alcoholic hot chocolate with rum and left over Easter eggs and catch up on succession with DH.

Drinking cider, watching it go dark (830). Ds gaming, for probably his 12th hour of the day. Dd in someone's garden somewhere. Dh scrolling. Cat's just come in for a poo. Killing time until we all gather at 9 and watch something.

So jealous! I've put both DC to bed and am now catching up on work. Probably have another 2 hours or so to do. Meanwhile, the house looks like a tip, so will also be tidying up and washing up before bed. Might cheer myself up with some beer!

I've had a special cookie and am now just chilling in the dining room listening to 80s tunes on absolute radio. The kids are in the front room playing monopoly and dh is on the PlayStation. We're looking forward to school reopening on Monday.

I put my toddler to bed at 8.15 and then decided that I was going to have a glass of wine and watch something frivolous rather than going back to my laptop and finishing off stuff for work.

I’ve had the most ridiculous couple
of days at work and i will have to work
over the weekend. But I cannot face any more of it tonight.

Not entirely sure what the film was trying to say.

I know that many films are just an adventure but this screamed 'lesson to be learned!'

I just can’t face it tonight. not in the least. Even worse this urgent stuff is shit that is in addition to the full time job they’ve got me doing (and I have plenty of that to do - including prepping things).

Sat at home in Portugal, Dh has taken Dd to bed and fallen asleep up there 😂so I’m having some peace, watching Gogglebox in a minute with my dog curled up with me and a big bowl of nachos and dips

Been to do a food shop now winding down with a cuppa and an episode of the good witch on Netflix.
DH birthday tomorrow so got him a cake and candles to light with the kids and tomorrow night we are going to see Paramore live. CANT WAIT! 😍

Just ate a huge wedge of lemon cheesecake and am watching Fraggle Rock (new series, and it's actually good!) with DS, one last episode before bed for him.
Then I'll repack his swimming bag for tomorrow morning, do the dishes and quick tidy-up, set washing machine to start early in the morn, have my shower and get in bed with a new book from the library.

My DH asked me to ask you what channel the fraggle rock series is on 😂 I’ve never heard of it myself

Our toddler went to bed later than expected so we ate our ragu with him sitting with us reading his book. He's now asleep so we watched a House of Games with our pudding (a favourite evening ritual)
I'm now having a bath before watching one of my TV shows. Husband is watching one of his TV shows and will have the bath after me.
Then it's bedtime before we do it all over again!

I battled DDs to bed for 7ish (toddler and preschooler) while DH nipped up to the village we’re staying near (holiday cottage, long weekend) to pick up an Indian takeaway for us. Now vowing to go on a starvation diet as soon as we get home. My rolls have developed rolls.

Children remain asleep though (for now), so I’ll take that as a win.

I'm doom scrolling & feeling equal parts sorry for myself and frustrated. I'm knackered after walking to a GP appointment this morning, then a friend calling for an hour early afternoon 😢

Both dds have showered...not a clue what they're up to right now. Probably Taylor Swift related or GCSE revision for dd1, and Minecraft/Minecraft videos for dd2.
