Putting this here rather than Gardening as it's for non gardeners too.

I'm loving the blossom just coming out on the flowering cherry I planted in the autumn. And watching the blackbirds try to catch worms in the too long grass.

After a slow start, my tulips are in full swing. I have some gorgeous huge orange/ red ones.

And the sweet pea seedings in the greenhouse are looking great. I love the optimism of this time of year :)

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 13/04/2023 11:37

The fact that we’ve just had a fit and very hardworking young chap in to do some fairly major, long overdue jobs.
Well worth the money and lots of cups of tea!

The camelias are out and they're just lovely!

Ornamental currant

Gloriousgardener11 · 13/04/2023 11:52

The white blossom on the plum tree, pots of tulips I planted in the Autumn and the forget me knots that seed themselves every ear.
Particularly love all the wriggling tadpoles in the pond.

ExtremelyDetermined · 13/04/2023 11:53

Spirea - drifts of tiny white flowers, the end of the muscari, forget-me-nots just starting, primroses which have self-seeded all over the lawn, blue and pink pulmonaria likewise. It's one of the nicest times of the year for our garden.

An abundance of tulips and our rabbits bouncing about on the lawn.

squashyhat · 13/04/2023 11:59

Primroses, cowslips and pink ornamental quince blossom

AndrexPuppy · 13/04/2023 11:59

Magnolia Grandiflora season. Just beautiful. Mine is going over a bit now but I just love it

MyMachineAndMe · 13/04/2023 12:02

The wild violets and the grape hyacinths. The blossom on the plum tree. The yellow flowers that are growing but I have no idea what they are. All of these are just growing like weeds in the grass that we haven't cut yet.

The birds in the bushes.

Our summerhouse.

Spring bulbs of all kinds, especially snakes head fritillaries which I've never grown before.

And the rhubarb is growing huge, after disappearing over winter.

It's such a joy watching everything come back to life, isn't it?

That sense that everything is starting up again is just lovely, the garden is starting to green up again.

I live in Australia - just heading into Autumn.

I am loving the birds - this morning in our garden, we had black & white cockatoos, king parrots, lorikeets, kookaburras, noisy miners, magpies, larks, 4 species of duck, galahs, the odd pigeon and a few random others. It was an incredible and beautiful cacophony of noise and colour.

Bluevelvetsofa · 13/04/2023 14:18

I loved the blossom on my flowering cherry tree. Yesterday’s atorm put paid to it.

ErrolTheDragon · 13/04/2023 14:46

The rockery, which we completely dug out after removing a conifer which was getting too big, and the rest was messy. It's tidy with trios of new plants and woodchipped to hopefully stop the previous plants taking over again.

In the back garden, daffodils and 3 pheasants - a cock and two hens. I will have to be careful if I venture into my back border, in case they're nesting somewhere in there. Though if they are they'd better watch out for the squirrel who doubtless would like eggs for breakfast.

addictedtotheflats · 13/04/2023 14:57

My forest flame. It looks so pretty

Wilkolampshade · 13/04/2023 14:58

This guy! DH filmed him sneaking up to the house whilst making a cup of tea yesterday morning.. He's so bold! (Foxy that is, not DH).
It's just a still btw as garden still looks hideous post winter.

DiscoBeat · 13/04/2023 15:00

The new buds popping out on the trees - we have lots including oak, elm and horse chestnut. And the peonies all sprouting. The magnolia was my favourite a week or so ago but now it's haemorrhaged its petals everywhere and not so welcome!

Starlingnest · 13/04/2023 15:16

The green, it's all so vibrant in the rain right now. The primroses which have been flowering for ages and and are a lovely sight in spring. The seedlings starting to appear in pots. The dandelions that are sprouting vigorously and will be very much appreciated by the guineapigs.

Mine too - sometimes it gets frost-burned, but not this year!

I have snake head fritillaries in my garden and I agree they are just beautiful to look at. I’m loving the bright yellow tulips in pots around my front door. My most favourite thing is the row of daffodils my husband planted along our lane way. It makes me smile every day!

BarrelOfOtters · 13/04/2023 15:37

I planted wild primrose plugs (from a reputable supplier) in the bank in front of the house. I've been trying to make it a wildflower bank but it's very dry in summer so the wild bluebells, Tenby daffodils etc I tried didn't take. The primroses seem to love it though and stand out really brightly.

Spotted that the peonies are just above ground now - bright red stalks, a bit obscene looking. Love it.
