Lionoso
Taking prescribed medical cannabis for pai. I have posted about it on Mumsnet, but no one in my life knows apart from DH and my Dr. There is still far too much stigma attached to it.
I’d like to know more about this. Can you post a link? I know someone in constant terrific pain and I’d like to look into it. Thank you.

I am in a hotel in Oslo. Nobody knows except the DS. They only know in case of emergency.

Why Oslo and why don’t you want anyone to know? I’m nosy intrigued.

I live in Eastern Europe, and, due to work due to the w*r, I am exhausted. Saw a cheap flight and grabbed it. Work don't want anyone to leave at the moment. It's not forbidden, but work is just piling and piling up.

Good for you, hope you enjoy your break. We won’t tell anyone 😘

Well done and good for you!. I need to lose 4 or 5 stone. Any side effects so far?

Good luck! 😃 🍪 🤤

Working on a secret project. Everyone has blocked me but one person said it’s genius so we will see where that goes.

Going on a secret trip in a few weeks.

mauricemossmylove · 13/04/2023 07:58

I came into some money (£2k). Not life changing and insignificant to many, but I have squirreled it into a savings account and not told a soul.
I'm in a job I've grown to hate and I'm stuck because of the wage and the flexibility (disabled DC).
I plan to use this money to get some different qualifications and then parachute my way out and into a different role. I realise two grand won't get me too far but I can pick up some smaller courses etc which should help as I hopefully have skills from this career of over 20 years.

Well it’s not a secret project if you’ve told people

princessspotify · 13/04/2023 08:52

@IhMrsPr I've been where you are. I felt exactly the same after a termination 6yrs ago. Please contact your Gp for some counselling. It really does help. Please feel free to PM me, I'm happy to talk.

Flamingosarentreal · 15/04/2023 11:27

@PeapodBurgundy no need for a return address, I ship tracked and obtain proof of delivery (GPS location and photograph)
who do you ship with? I am looking for a reasonable priced service for my knitted items after my last courier lost an expensive balnket

PeapodBurgundy · 15/04/2023 17:09

@Flamingosarentreal I use FedEx. Not cheap, however the service is brilliant. I've had one hiccup, and it was resolved with one email. Definitely worth the money, particularly for hand crafted items like yours with a high labour cost.

Roobarb56 · 10/04/2023 07:25

@fluffy2buffy Hugs and high fives to help you on the journey ! Well done, you.

Very kind of you, thank you!

blinkbonny · 16/04/2023 11:59

@pippi123 thank you, you've made me curious now because I'm not actually sure of the origins of the word - it has a family story to it, but I don't know where it originally came from. Who did you write your essay on?

pippi123 · 16/04/2023 13:50

@blinkbonny - my essay was about Victorian sport and blinkbonny was a very good racehorse in 1856/8. You could view her skeleton in York museum in the 1950s but I don’t think you can now. 🐎🐎

Nothing at the moment but this has inspired me ...
Great thread OP

CorStrewth · 16/04/2023 16:54

Selling knickers is one thing but cashing in on the fact you work with children and knowing that the men you buy these from get off on that fact is a step too far towards enabling paedophilia is it not?

I've worked as a teacher, I know teachers are entitled to private lives but I could never, ever use my career as a sexual tool that perpetuates the damage to children and sexualises the innocent days of their lives they're supposed to be having with you!

PeapodBurgundy · 16/04/2023 18:07

@CorStrewth Accusing me of enabling paedophilia is a huge and unjustified leap! I don't work with children, I teach in an FE college, the VAST majority of my students are adults due to the nature of the courses I mainly teach on. I do not claim to work with children, the angle is more 'sexy academic'.

Thanks. Not as expensive as I thought. I use Dh's business address as sender address at the moment but couldnt see how to send without a senders address in case i need that in the future.

Flamingosarentreal · 16/04/2023 19:01

To keep on thread- I am secretly yarn bombing our village- not even Dh knows it's me!

PeapodBurgundy · 16/04/2023 19:05

@Flamingosarentreal I just put the recipient address in twice.

I note you're not using Sexy Mum as your angle. You still have a duty to care to your learners and the 'vast majority' is not all. Not only that, most FE colleges have regular school pupil visitors.

Let's not try to reframe what a teacher fetish is and what the image is you are creating. Most FE 'teachers' are referred to 'lecturers' but you've chose not to sell yourself as that either.

PeapodBurgundy · 16/04/2023 19:35

@CorStrewth I'm not using many other aspects of my lifestyle and personality either, what's your point?

And yes, my contract notes my job title as lecturer, but that's about the limit of it, nobody refers to us as lecturers, we're discussed as 'teaching staff', hence referring to myself as a teacher. I'm not really sure what your point is there either.

Not that I have to defend myself to anyone on what was supposed to be a lighthearted thread, but for what its worth, the customer who pays more for underwear worn at work asks about the research aspect of my day (looking to make a move to HE so I'm working on a project with our partner university in addition to my teaching commitments), so he's not at all interested in anything classroom based.

Your opinion is yours, but I'm not going to stop earning extra money to maintain my home, or feel guilty about it because somebody on an anonymous forum has an issue with it.

You are all so inspiring 😊

Wishing I could get a diagnosis!

Had joint and muscle pain on and off but has become worse the past few months. When at its worst my IBS kicks in big time and I feel like everything hurts and the least little pressure on skin leaves a bruise-and/or soreness. Walking is painful. Blood tests show no RA factor.
Awaiting a physio appointment.
I haven’t told anyone in RL.

Look up Sally K Norton on YouTube. Your body may not shed oxalates adequately. You may also have leaky gut syndrome. The carnivore diet starting turning my symptoms around within three days. Get well soon.

blinkbonny · 17/04/2023 14:07

@pippi123 thank you! That's very interesting to know
