Any guesses what the food will arrive on? Plates or, erm, something else?!

Drinks in measuring jugs look like something you'd do when you were a student and hadn't washed up for two weeks and then someone came back unexpectedly for a nightcap.

Yes, it's a bit Withnail and I. Fork it!!

diddl · 01/04/2023 19:11

I wonder if anyone ever asks for a glass?

Is it considered a usp or something?

Notjustabrunette · 01/04/2023 19:18

What’s the light bulb on the table?

I'm guessing that market in Toronto, Kensington I think.

Used to be rough, now it's really fancy.

Ah, nowhere near me then.

You do indeed. The DC just pointed that out (I'm not Mrs Observant, clearly)

😂

tupperwear lids as plates?they must be somewhere.

TrenchVagina · 01/04/2023 20:04

What an abomination.

Riapia · 01/04/2023 20:07

I’ve eaten my lunch out of newspaper whilst sitting on a bench in a rundown seaside town on the east coast. You’re not kidding when you say that place is gentrified.

Far too posh for the likes of me.
😁😁

Summerfun54321 · 01/04/2023 20:07

West coast or east coast of Canada? Never going back to the West Coast if they're doing things like this now, they've gone too far.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 01/04/2023 20:08

Hazarding a guess, but perhaps Chef's underpants, with of course, the 'Y' sewn up... (you don't want the peas spilling out into your cat bowl)

NCforHairC · 01/04/2023 20:14

Ew looks like gravy

cittigirl · 01/04/2023 18:13

Gross. They don't even look that clean either. How was the food served?

Exactly what I thought, grubby.

HermioneWeasley · 01/04/2023 20:17

@SiobhanSharpe i instantly thought of that song too!

VisitationRights · 01/04/2023 20:20

It’s Niagara Falls, what do you expect? It always going to be high tackiness there.

Butterfingers1977 · 01/04/2023 20:23

Hilarious !!! 😃

I'd send it back and ask for a glass.

Same, I don’t even like it when bars use jam jars.

OriginalUsername2 · 01/04/2023 20:45

How did they get the contrived hipster look so wrong?! It looks like the dishwasher packed in and they had to make do.

MrsDoylesDoily · 01/04/2023 18:03

I couldn't drink the yellow one. It looks like chicken stock!

That wasn't my first thought when I saw it!

teezletangler · 01/04/2023 20:49

You're at The Works, aren't you? Grin

They've always done this and it's always been weird!

Carlycat · 01/04/2023 20:50

That's total bollocks with a flake!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 01/04/2023 20:53

We made cocktails in a teapot when I was a student.

I was once invited to a friend's place as a student and offered a drink - which he brought out in the only clean receptacles that he had: saucepans.

Miscellaneousme · 01/04/2023 20:53

Worst thing I’ve ever had a drink served in was a place using painted tin cans (yes like bean tins). Aside from anything else it was bloody freezing to hold the drinks 😂

GlassBunion · 01/04/2023 20:57

Did you have a 'deconstructed' burger served on a 'living plate' ( ie a large lettuce leaf?)

SoftCoeur · 01/04/2023 18:10

A recently gentrified bit of Canada. I was last here 20 years ago and it wasn't like this then. Lots of swanky shops and so on now.

Food still not here.

Gas Town?

ChocSaltyBalls · 01/04/2023 21:04

Aw that’s nuts. We went to an Italian in King’s Cross (not a very good one but it was near the hotel) and our pasta was served in frying pans. Not even nice cast iron ones but cheap supermarket £4 looking ones
