Any guesses what the food will arrive on? Plates or, erm, something else?!

One is Pepsi, the other is apple juice, though DH did say it looks like a jug of pee, being in a jug and all 😬

A recently gentrified bit of Canada. I was last here 20 years ago and it wasn't like this then. Lots of swanky shops and so on now.

The poor Canadians. They know they're the least cool people in the Americas so they do this nonsense. Bless their little hearts. At least they have Quebec.

I was once served eggs benedict in a slate. When I cut into the egg the yolk ran across the slate and on to the table.

It's almost as if plates are made with rims for a reason...

You win a prize. They are baking trays with a paper liner. Could have been worse, at least they do have a rim and function as a food receptacle 😃
