I'm a woman but I use a unisex or man's wallet - is it a wallet or a purse in this case?
I think it's a matter of what suits the individual - I used to have a big leather zip around wallet but the zip broke - I always over filled it. It was made to appeal to stereotypically female users I think, as it was brown leather but embossed with a floral design, though not particularly noticeable. (So a purse? But I always think of purses as small and dainty and predominantly for coins/ small amounts of cash like this: 👛)
I switched to a neoprene outdoor style folding wallet without a zip. It still has 6 card slots, a central space for another card or owners return details (I have my driving licence in here), two sections for notes and a coin envelope type section.
I use cash and cards and live in a country where we have to carry ID plus driving licence if driving plus a health insurance card.
I also have to make small purchases for work and carry receipts to use to claim expenses/ put into petty cash.
I don't use a handbag, I always wear jeans or walking trousers and carry it in my pocket.
When I used to use the big zip wallet I used to carry it in my hand - like a clutch I guess - or have it in my changing bag/ rucksack if out with kids as they were small then.
