Where do you do (most of) your food shopping?

I currently get a delivery from Tesco every week, but with the minimum online spend increasing to £50 from £40, and the value of Clubcard rewards decreasing, I may reconsider.

I live near Lidl and get the odd bits, but find the fresh produce poor and not a lot of choice for vegetarians.

I'm a recent convert to Tesco. I did used to prefer Aldi, but their range and availability was so poor for so long that I ditched them. My nearest Tesco is a good shop, and I like scanning as I shop.

shieldmaiden7 · 30/03/2023 20:43

I do a big Iceland home delivery once a week and top up with a Tesco for the bits I can't get from them. It works out cheaper considering how many we have in the house

Waitrose

Sainsbury's delivery, Waitrose top up.

I tried Lidl / Aldi but it wasn't significantly cheap enough to make me change. I don't want to traipse around four supermarkets at the weekend.

FernFairy · 30/03/2023 20:49

Combination of M&S, Booths, Waitrose, Aldi. I gave up on online shopping when I couldn't get a delivery during COVID after having a weekly delivery for a decade.

User639762456 · 30/03/2023 20:54

Online Tesco delivery, top up at Waitrose and M&S

SunhatsAndFlipFlops · 30/03/2023 20:56

Aldi and Asda. Aldi is great, but doesn’t always have the things I need in stock.

UsingChangeofName · 30/03/2023 21:00

Aldi

LadyKenya · 30/03/2023 21:00

Sainsbury's, and M&S for my main shop. I also get a few bits, and bobs from Aldi, and B&M.

2X4B523P · 30/03/2023 21:03

Mostly Waitrose and M and S with the odd few bits from Sainsbury’s.

Therealjudgejudy · 30/03/2023 21:04

Aldi and Tescos. Occasionally Dunnes (I'm in Ireland)

TeenLifeMum · 30/03/2023 21:05

Asda. You now get points that turn into £. From November to early March I’d earned £100 and I converted £80 into vouchers to spend in Asda (online) and it was great. I spend £170-£200 per week to earn that. I love it. It’s really easy too.

redspottedmug · 30/03/2023 21:05

Aldi for general shop (staples, veg. cheese, yoghurt etc)
Farm shop for sausages and pies, eggs
Morrisons for top up shop
M&S for treats

Okunevo · 30/03/2023 21:08

Probably 95% at Lidl. We are not vegetarian but there is currently a decent choice of falafel and similar chilled items as DS eats them. No issues with fruit or veg lasting. I've compared a basket with Tesco, and Lidl is still cheaper for us. I stock up on a few items at Aldi and bulk buy spices in the bags in sainsburys.

troppibambini6 · 30/03/2023 21:08

Aldi for majority then I go to Waitrose for anything I can't get or any treats.

flutterbyebaby · 30/03/2023 21:08

I get my meat from an organic we sing to the cows butchers in Yorkshire, other stuff from Waitrose and Tescos, crap frozen stuff from Iceland, fish from a place in Lancaster that delivers, cat food from Zooplus and Almond milk etc from Bother

teacakecrumbs · 30/03/2023 21:09

Sainsbury’s delivery. Items we buy are often on offer, good substitutions - you can refuse subs, and if they’re more expensive you get a voucher for the difference. Been really happy with them.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 30/03/2023 21:09

Tescos, I would love to do Aldi or Lidl but can never do a whole shop from either and realistically do not have the time to faff about with two supermarkets as both are 15 miles away and I do a weekly shop in the way home from work, top up from local, small Sainsbury’s if needed

Anycolouryoulike · 30/03/2023 21:10

Tesco and Company shop.

Furrybutts · 30/03/2023 21:10

Sainsburys and M&S

Incidentally, Morrison's now allow delivery if you spend £25

TeeBee · 30/03/2023 21:11

Waitrose mainly as it's closest and quiet. Deliveries from Asda if I can't be bothered. I'm surrounded by all the main supermarkets.

ltscoldonthesidelines · 30/03/2023 21:13

Both ends of the spectrum. Asda delivery most weeks, Lidl when I want to shop in person with the odd Waitrose and M&S shop.

HelenaHurricane · 30/03/2023 21:14

Tesco

lalaloopyhead · 30/03/2023 21:17

Used to be mostly Aldi but seems like half the town goes there at the weekends now and it's too busy. I get a bit bored with the lack of choice too. I've started going to Sainsbury's more now as they price match a lot of basic stuff and have more interesting and varied ingredients type things. Oh and scan and shop is a revelation.
Occasionally Lidl but our local one only had 1 or 2 tills open and there always seems to be big queue even when the shop feel empty!

ThePoshUns · 30/03/2023 21:18

Lidl and Asda
