Is something big going on… conspiracy theory related

Ok hear me out….

the following things have put me a little bit on edge:

  • emergency alert trial from government (yes I know it’s been spoken about for years)
  • a few asteroids flying “close” and reported in press
  • A few solar/planet events… eg holes in sun creating solar winds, northern lights being so far down south, weird planetary alignments
  • nasa being able to defect the path of an asteroid in the last 6 months
  • the constant threat of nuclear war
  • chatter a few months ago about weird spy balloons and possibility of aliens?!

I can’t help but shake the feeling that some people “higher up” know something that us little folk don’t know yet and that we are being primed.

I am fully prepared to be told I’m crackers! 🤣

I can't find a builder to re-fit a utility room, let alone build a nuclear bunker.

Lol, feel your pain , getting a decent builder is so hard these days. Or they are fully booked up

cupofteaandabiccyplease · 29/03/2023 12:08

Sorry, but I for one don't care about any of this, life is short and I'm determined to enjoy it even if aliens land, we are on a collision course with a lump of rock or the sun is going out.
As pp have said our government would have blabbed something as a leak. Everyone has their price.

The emergency alert trial has made me feel a little on edge if I think about it.

Just can't help but wonder - why now? And what for.

lots of other countries have it

why not now? What would we be waiting for

it isn’t just for national alerts- can be regional eg weather events

pls stop worrying

Two friends early early fifties died suddenly last year, one heart problems, one a blood clot but both previously healthy. One with the blood clot was one of the fittest people I know, ran marathons etc. Another women who I knew from an internet help site died of brain bleed suddenly, friends daughter in thirties from a blood clot , one of dd's collegues in her part time job died suddenly brain bleed. CEO of my previous workplace died after short illness - mid fifties I'd say. I know people die suddenly, it just seems such a lot in such a short space of time when my social life and work circle is very limited. I don't have huge numbers of friends so is hard to get my head around so many deaths. I do find it worrying.

On a more serious note, I’ve never known personally anyone dying of a blood clot. Suddenly I have acquaintances my age and younger suffering/ dying from brain bleeds and clots too. It has unnerved me.

Few of these are new, the difference is that with t'internet every man and his dog, (or woman and her dog) can get their theories into print. I've often said that the conspiracy theorists would have had a field day after the Kennedy assassination!

You are crackers thinking that our sh*t show of a government can keep anything of that magnitude secret

dutysuite · 29/03/2023 12:09

I’ve disabled the emergency alerts on my phone.
Money grabs in the guise of climate and net zero along with local councils forcing through LTNs and 15 minute neighbourhoods are things that concern me

Logicoutofthewindow · 29/03/2023 12:09

Yep you're crackers, get a tin foil hat.

Try living in the 80's aids was going to kill everyone and if that didn't then nuclear war from the Russians. Some similar things really.

If you search for conspiracies the algorithms then throw up even more stuff because it is apparent you are interested so it appears everywhere, etc etc so the tin foil hat lot convince themselves that it must be true and worry/worry and spread the worry.

Nopinnogin · 29/03/2023 12:10

The US has had this alert for a while now
Aliens gave been about for a while now
Putin’s posturing is no Different to what North Korea was doing ten years ago
Numerous asteroids have come close to hitting the earth in recent years
Clickbait doomscrolling newspaper articles are on the rise though.

Eranzer · 29/03/2023 12:12

@Trinity65 ha! I like you.

Dunno OP, I'm with you though, not all is as it seems.

Zuffe · 29/03/2023 12:12

The Gov alert is for us to get tetanus booster jabs.

This is because Russia will unleash 18,000 nukes towards western Europe in early August. The issue is that most were made in 1955 and are so corroded and rusty they won’t go off but we will get tetanus from all the sharp edges of the resulting scrap metal when they land.

Whenever I see theories like this I marvel at the idea that any group of people, especially the current shit show of a government we have at the moment could keep a secret of this magnitude without leaks. Guaranteed if there was something big going on we would have had the relevant WhatsApp messages splashed all over Twitter by now

It will be higher than than the gov.

My late uncle died of a blood clot in the 1970's - I imagine with the internet everyone spreads this now. Blood clots do kill and it's nothing new.

If you look at the government figures for 2017 to 2020 you will see blood clots listed so not new since the 'vax' which some conspiracy theorists claim and spread. https://www.ons.gov.uk/aboutus/transparencyandgovernance/freedomofinformationfoi/deathsdirectlyandindirectlycausebybloodclots2017to2020

Oh, come on. He's too busy analysing the date he's collected, via the microchips in the vaccine, regarding the calories the average mumsnetter takes in daily to stay so trim and healthy and how they manage to make a chicken last a week.

I've just bought this book. Only 99 p on Kindle. I shall think of this thread when I read it.

Yep and those with a range of mental illnesses or conditions lap up this stuff. It's sad really than vulnerable people get bombarded with conspiracies and then they worry which affect mental health etc. Then other conspiracists insist that if you don't 'believe something is going on' you are 'a sheeple' or 'not awake yet'. Lots of them are just batshit though.

I haven’t mentioned the ‘vax’ and didn’t intend too. I haven’t mentioned the internet either. I’m saying in later 2022/23 in my circle, people I know to ring or talk to, I’ve suddenly known a number. Which really has surprised me. Anyone would be unnnerved at losing colleagues or friends, or extendedfamily member’s partners/ children in a bunch of similar events

ItIsFiat · 29/03/2023 12:17

I am convinced that Bill Gates and the Bond Villain Schwabb fella get off winding up people. The Schwabb guy has only a few Million he isn't a Billionaire like Gates.

I wish the pair of them would piss off, they cause so much trouble they are a pair of trolls.

Windbeneathmybingowings · 29/03/2023 12:17

Yes. Some people feel the zeitgeist and some don’t. Those who don’t think those who do are crazy and then find themselves wearing Ugg boots (or other latest trend) 10 years after everyone else.

nilsmousehammer · 29/03/2023 12:20

Considering the almighty dithering demonstrated by government during the acute part of the covid crisis? No. It would be leaked, and they wouldn't be doing anything purposeful or organised about it.

countingallthseconds · 29/03/2023 12:20

The human brain likes to try and make you figure stuff out. Even stuff that's unrelated. It will try and categorise those things. It's a survival method.

The things you mentioned are all completely unrelated. Your brain just desperately wants them to be related.

CaveMum · 29/03/2023 12:21

I can recommend the book “The Irrational Ape” as some bedtime reading.

it underlines why people buy into conspiracy theories and how we can help avoid it through critical thinking.

Exactly this, it's not that they WOULDN'T, simply that they COULDN'T keep that kind of secret.

Thisisbig · 29/03/2023 12:21

I can’t work out if the tetanus theory is bonkers or possible 😂 did that come from your mind?

ok for those asking I have two theories about what will happen

  1. this is the start of ww3 and it is not going to be pretty
  2. there is something going on in space. Radio signals or a distant asteroid that is going to hit or even just a theory that something big is “due” statistically
