Does your man like pamper nights?

My lovely DP just walked in from golf and asked if we can do a pamper night tonight. Face masks, teeth whitening, pedicure and waxing his beard. I think it's really sweet and makes my heart melt. Anyone else's man like this behind closed doors?

Ok " Some Women " . I'm a hair stylist and beauty therapist so really don't care which sex it is . I make a living from it so I'm happy .

A couple of ex,s liked a face pack every now and again. I liked it, they weren't arsed about their masculinity coming into question and these were masculine guys.

It pissed me off more that I'd have to watch out for them using whatever new lotion or potion I'd just bought!

My DP’s idea of a ‘pamper night’ would be a huge steak, a bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape, a cheeseboard, a large Islay malt and a cigar.

Maybe their issue is ideological? ‘Pamper’ suggests pleasure and self-indulgence, and it’s pretty problematic that the term is increasingly used to mean ‘time-consuming and/or expensive grooming intended to enhance gendered self-presentation’ according to prevailing norms’.

Good lord, no. I’d think he’d had some sort of serious brain injury if he came home one night and suggested that 🤣 I wouldn’t be into it either.

Absolutely not. If I want to do a face mask and paint my nails I do. It’s not a team activity. I’d find it very unattractive if he started primping and preening himself. He’s very hygienic but I like a burly rough round the edges man, not a man who wants a pedicure, teeth whitening and a face mask.
My dh would dream of a night like @ClassicLib‘s dp (swap the whisky for a brandy), in fact he’s having it tonight! He’s cooking it though.

Goodness me, no! He'd rather have his leg chopped off - as indeed would I. Neither of us would ever want to do anything like this, alone or together.

No, he has probably never heard of a pamper evening as its not something I do either. He doesn't use cosmetics other than the essentials (deodorant, shower gel etc).

Having just had a very long and complex 'pamper' afternoon, no way would I want to share that time with my sister, my mother or my children let alone my DH.

It's my own time, rhythm and a million steps and procedures.

If my DH wanted to do any pampering on his own or with me, it would so put me off him. No issues with him playing golf though.

Can you even wax a beard, surely it must be incredibly painful!

My dh wouldn’t have the faintest idea what a ‘pamper night’ is. TBH I would run a mile from anything with the word ‘pamper’ in it myself - I feel about that word the same as a lot of MNers feel about ‘moist’.
