It's very close to Arsenal's training ground

Spurs' is only 12 miles away as well, cross country.

slamfightbrightlight · 24/03/2023 09:34

There are loads of photos in the video tour but I can’t quite work out who owns it. Definitely footballer though!

sallylondon · 24/03/2023 09:34

If I'd only seen the pictures I would honestly have said that house was in Los Angeles, not Watford outskirts!

Coxspurplepippin · 24/03/2023 09:46

Way too much going on but the bones of the house are lovely. They should have simplified the woodwork and the plaster ceilings - everything's a bit 'heavy'. I like some of the murals, but there's such a mish mash of styles from faux Jacobean to Spiderman lair. Just pick a style arts and crafts and stick to it. Some of the outside is nice, pics 32/3/4 are lovely.

Houseyvibe · 24/03/2023 09:54

I knew it was going to be this house before I opened the post. Name changed. I know who lives there and it’s not a footballer. It’s an ordinary family with a ridiculous amount of money. They’re not low key and are known for extreme displays of wealth. But they have nothing to do with football. The whole of that road is a building site. Lovely big attractive family homes are being knocked down to build these monstrosities and plots alone are going for £3m+

readingismycardio · 24/03/2023 10:00

I can offer 300k 🤣 joke aside, it's absolutely beautiful

viques · 24/03/2023 10:01

Why build a wine vault if you are only going to use it for a couple of bottles of wine and some cans of whatever is in the cans?

It’s a bit of a sad house, built for or by someone with soaring ambitions to put their stamp on it, but the house is actually soulless and looks an uncomfortable and impractical space to live in.

And whoever planted that monkey puzzle tree ! Far too close to the house, they grow enormous and are very unfriendly, though I am quite fond of them myself.

Oblomov23 · 24/03/2023 10:02

Too fussy. Not surprised at the price though, bet someone will pay £15m fir that house, near Watford.

Bluevelvetsofa · 24/03/2023 09:08

A perfect blend of bad taste and far too much money.

This

OceanbreezeSun · 24/03/2023 10:13

It’s bonkers - not my style at all, but I can appreciate all the work that has gone into it & it has been done well.

It looks like it would cost an awful lot to maintain, cleaning and landscaping the stunning gardens.

PaulaVerlaine · 24/03/2023 10:23

I quite like the bathroom in pic 14 and the laundry room but the rest of it is.... can I say vulgar???

Maiyakat · 24/03/2023 10:29

The lack of carpets is making my feet cold. Not sure why the master bedroom needs 3 toilets! Also want to know who gives out awards for bathrooms.

Yesthatismychildsigh · 24/03/2023 10:30

It would cost a fortune to put right! All those bedrooms and showers, it’s either a swinger’s house or someone whose wealth is in inverse proportions to their taste. If she had the money I could see Sarah Ferguson living there.

Yesthatismychildsigh · 24/03/2023 10:36

forgot to say, it would suit lots and lots of pampas grass.

AlisonHalligan · 24/03/2023 10:36

Not my style but I admire their commitment to a vision. More interesting that a lot of beige-greige minimalist “good taste” new houses.

I’d want a lot more than 1.2 acres.

Pixiedust1234 · 24/03/2023 10:45

Love the garden but the house is a bit fussy for my taste. It needs a bit of blandness to make features pop more. I like the pheasant mural too. £80k a month mortgage for 25 years though faints

girlmeetsboy · 24/03/2023 10:50

Can I see a wedding dress like Princess Diana's in a display cabinet in the master bedroom???

megletthesecond · 24/03/2023 10:52

I know millionaires have money to spend but whoever buys that will need to spend a lot making it less tacky. It's a kids idea of a posh house.

Henowner · 24/03/2023 11:02

Very Liberace, just missing the piano 😂

JacobsCrackersCheeseFogg · 24/03/2023 11:06

I appreciate the craftsmanship in the woodwork and marbelling. It's quite Italianate but definitely without the classic charm. The armour is a bit much ! 😖 Screams New Money.

Yy a footballer or a lottery winner. Or maybe a reality TV person.

IglesiasPiggl · 24/03/2023 11:07

Houses like this make me start playing my game of "fantasy housekeeper". I imagine I employ a full time housekeeper and think of what all their responsibilities would be 😁.

The dust, mostly.

I am thinking the housekeeper would oversee the cleaner's work, which would no doubt involve much dusting!

MsFogi · 24/03/2023 11:18

OMG!!! The wedding dress in the glass case in the bedroom is bonkers!!

Giggorata · 24/03/2023 11:22

Vulgar as fuck, but sort of a work of art…
