Yes. An uncle was the late actor Jack Hawkins, my second cousin is Manuel Benitez Pérez (El Cordobes) and one of my AC is a recognised sportsperson who has competed all over the world, been on TV numerous times, featured in programmes and media outlets here and abroad and had a two page pictorial in an upmarket glossy mag.

My Godmother’s nephew is a famous actor. Used to see him occasionally, not so much as we’ve got older. Lovely bloke.

I always liked Jack Hawkins, was he as nice as he seemed? It was so sad when cancer took his voice and then his life.

Apparently one of my mum’s ancestors was John Bright (he reformed the corn laws). I know, no one has heard of him either 😂😂

@ancientgran Yes, a very nice gentleman with a captivating voice. I admit I only met him a few times, one of which was when he was in the company of actor Robert Shaw, he of 'Jaws' fame, another very likeable and interesting person.
