The previous thread filled up fast, so here's another one with a reasonably topical title!

But even though the report is bollocks you should remember that they dismissed most of the charges. Because that bit is the true bit.

DuncinToffee · 21/04/2023 10:16

As true as the sea was closed....

newnamethanks · 21/04/2023 10:19

Oh. Mr Raab. 'Not me guv. Well, maybe, a bit'. Again. Who's next?

Roussette · 21/04/2023 10:20

It's basically this...

Thread 22. Sunak: Taxes, Truth and Tories
DuncinToffee · 21/04/2023 10:26

And Sunak seems to agree with him

otherwise he would have been sacked without a chance to make himself the victim.

IClaudine · 21/04/2023 10:28

The arrogance just drips off that letter. What a horrible man.

newnamethanks · 21/04/2023 10:41

I expect Mr Raab is now hunting down a lefty lawyer willing to represent him in a claim that he has been bullied out of his job, with an eventual appeal to ECHR.

RafaistheKingofClay · 21/04/2023 10:44

Kudos for trying to claim bullying was essential to creating high standards at the MoJ given he’s completely broken the justice system during his time there.

Or perhaps he’s trying to argue that if he had sworn and shouted at people we wouldn’t have the largest backlog in cases waiting to go to court.

the80sweregreat · 21/04/2023 10:45

Oh well, another one bites the dust.
Who will take over as deputy ?

Notonthestairs · 21/04/2023 10:49

Sunak employed Braverman knowing she leaks confidential information, Zahawi when he knew he was dodging tax and Williamson for inappropriate messages (his third sacking from Government, he'd already leaked confidential information) and Raab when he had form for mistreating staff.

And somehow in amongst this stellar lot we are supposed to believe that the bar for claiming breach of Ministerial Code is TOO LOW!

Nevermind that the bar for appointment to Ministerial positions is so bloody low it's underground.

L1ttledrummergirl · 21/04/2023 10:53

Quite. This is the government we are expected to believe act with integrity. They really are contemptuous of us.

Roussette · 21/04/2023 10:56

I am imagining his successor.

It couldn't possibly be 30p versus Rayner could it? Shock

itsgettingweird · 21/04/2023 11:00

DuncinToffee · 21/04/2023 09:51

Raab is gone, resigned

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

RafaistheKingofClay · 21/04/2023 11:06

I’m just starting to wonder which completely talentless wonder they could replace him with.

Notonthestairs · 21/04/2023 11:11

I think Sunak will shift Dowden in to Deputy PM position. I think Sunak hoped to have Dowden as Home Sec before he realised he had to have Braverman to get the far right Tories/Johnsonians on board.

Justice Secretary - no idea. There is a huge amount of ground to make up and relationships to rebuild. I hope it will be somebody willing to do that (not holding out much hope there).

If they think they can get away with it I think they will try to bring back Raab to organise the next the GE campaign. Or Gbeebies will offer him an angry man slot - he could co-chair with Anderson.

Or of course he could join the rest of the general public and become one the worst idlers in the world...

Blossomtoes · 21/04/2023 11:16

I opened The Telegraph this morning (I know but the bloke subscribes) to the news that Raab would fight to the death. Ten minutes later I heard on the news that he’d resigned. Do they actually believe what they say themselves or is lying just the default?

the80sweregreat · 21/04/2023 11:21

He was obviously' pushed ' to go. Resigning is a cop out.

the80sweregreat · 21/04/2023 11:24

Daily Mail headline just now
' skewered by snowflakes '
Not by a damming inquiry then.

Do you have the Telegraph online? Raab has apparently just got an article published online complaining that "the people of Britain will pay the price for this Kafkaesque drama".

So 2 complaints of bullying isn't enough and I'd put good money on him never having read Kafka.

Beginning to think that Sunak gifted him 24 hours to get his excuses out before they publish the report.

LlynTegid · 21/04/2023 11:30

Bitter and twisted to say the least. I hope the local party deselects him as candidate for the Tories at the next general election.

RafaistheKingofClay · 21/04/2023 11:30

Lol at the British people paying the price. How? He was useless in every position they ever put him in. Angry and delusional.

Issuing threats is definitely the way to go if you are not a bully.

I do. Off to read it now and will report back.

Roussette · 21/04/2023 11:35

Here is the article. Don't worry about the link, I archived it because it's behind a paywall.

I bet that vein in his temple is really bulging right now!

Blossomtoes · 21/04/2023 11:38

That article is looooong. Do you want me to do a Clav with it?
