The previous thread filled up fast, so here's another one with a reasonably topical title!

Deliberately doing quite a bit of heavy lifting there. You'd think after the Government had to pay off atleast one ex employeee he might reconsider his style of management.

DuncinToffee · 21/04/2023 08:30

They are targeting the most vulnerable whilst raking it in from their second/third/fourth jobs and avoiding tax.
Reprehensible.

The Tory party in a nutshell

Dom's mates have been busy briefing the press

Dominic Raab's allies tell the Times they have never seen him do anything "deliberately sinister".

‘Deliberately sinister’

so he’s just naturally inclined to being sinister then? These people just vomit words without remembering communication.

His predecessor but one was only responsible for the pot plants and party entertainment, has the role changed since then?

Grin

Little bit. The pot plants are all dead now - apparently some got alcohol poisoning and some just went on hunger strike after being forced to witness out of hours bjs.

He probably is, it takes him a while bless him.

The Telegraph says Raab will "fight to the death" to keep his job.
Seems like a wholly rational response.

DuncinToffee · 21/04/2023 08:36

Since they started breaking the law in a specific and limited way, they think they can do whatever they like and excuse it.

Johnson was ambushed, Zahawi had his horses, Pincher had his name, Patel was just being nice in her own way, Raab....

Johnson had his ditch

Notonthestairs · 21/04/2023 08:47

Wonder if Sunak will have Raab sitting alongside him today. Or whether Raab will be in the Commons at all.

DuncinToffee · 21/04/2023 08:49

Sunak will come out of this more damaged than Raab

The MN Tory fans have been very quiet on this.

What's on today?

Notonthestairs · 21/04/2023 08:52

Illegal Migration Bill amendments.

There’s quite the Tory fad for killing off their career sitting it out in a metaphorical bunker with cyanide and a shotgun.

RafaistheKingofClay · 21/04/2023 09:18

So Raab’s just accidentally sinister then. Or perhaps he just can’t help himself from bullying people.

DuncinToffee · 21/04/2023 09:23

What a way to treat your staff

https://twitter.com/hzeffman/status/1649324463920431104?s=20
Growing dismay in MoJ. One official says: “The process has been dreadful. We've heard nothing and are having to piece things together from the news. This isn't about whether he stays or goes, just how people are treated when they've shown bravery to stand up to a powerful person”

DuncinToffee · 21/04/2023 09:51

Raab is gone, resigned

Roussette · 21/04/2023 09:55

Thank god. It would not be tolerated in the workplace, so why should it within Govt

DuncinToffee · 21/04/2023 09:56

Note this part

But it’s clear Raab is not happy and still rejects idea he’s a bully: “In setting the threshold for bullying so low, this inquiry has set a dangerous precedent. It will encourage spurious complaints against Ministers and have a chilling effect on those driving change…”

RafaistheKingofClay · 21/04/2023 10:00

Yep. It’s all a bit I did nothing wrong you’re making me leave because I’m not a bully even if other people think I am.

Cornettoninja · 21/04/2023 10:06

I’m interested to see exactly what this ‘low threshold’ is. Sounds a bit snow flakey on the face of it. ‘I’m in such an important job I need to be able to express myself like a five year old in a playground. You can’t expect me to behave like an adult at work’.

Roussette · 21/04/2023 10:08

Basically he's sorry not sorry, and the investigation was very flawed, and if the threshold for bullying was lower, he'd have been fine and it should be lower and everyone should be able to shout at everyone because how can he do his job properly without shouting at people and calling them a silly bitch, like he did with Gina Miller.

L1ttledrummergirl · 21/04/2023 10:13

Wow, the anger in that letter, the undertone of narcissism and the reminder at the end of his importance to Sunaks campaign.

He's not going away.

IClaudine · 21/04/2023 10:13

This has made my morning.

I agree. He just sounds very unpleasant. I imagine he agreed to go if he could write this sort of letter.

DuncinToffee · 21/04/2023 10:14

He might even hire some more lefty lawyers to help him fight, will he make use of the ECHR as well 🤔
