What's the worst film you've ever watched? Think I just melted my brain...

...by watching Spy Intervention on Prime. It has Drew Van Acker in it of PLL fame and I was looking for something a bit easy, he's pretty (I know, I know, very high brow of me) and dear GOD it was terrible. I may have to burn my own eyes out - was it a romance, was it a comedy? Was it just fucking terrible? yes, yes to the latter.

I can't quite believe I kept watching until the bitter end, I think I was expecting something to happen that would explain why it was so bad?

What's the worst film you've ever watched?

PS: DVA WAS pretty in it. Very. But it still wasn't enough to save it.

The one with the singers dressed as Lufthansa cabin crew. 'Pitch Perfect'.

This is the kind of thing I'd never have watched in a million years, only some joker of a Module Leader put it on a film module I happened to be co-teaching.

Teaching this bilge - can you imagine?

This might have to top my list as the worst ever. Abysmal dross.

Christ, I don't envy you. I can't imagine how you'd even begin to apply a critical eye to Pitch Perfect. Unless it's 'how to make the most cynical movie ever'.

SmugglersHaunt · 21/03/2023 14:17

Midsommar was incredibly boring and pointless. I can only imagine it’s only popular among people who’ve never seen The Wicker Man.

Last Night in Soho has to be one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. Just embarrassing drivel.

Lady in the Water (and most M Night Shyamalan films) are appalling. I could go on (and on).

The lyrics were NOT what made Nirvana great. In fact Smells Like Teen Spirit is better if you can’t make out what Kurt Cobain was singing!

Ah great. That's me sorted so. I could never work out what he was singing 😆

midnightblue12 · 21/03/2023 14:35

Home alone 4!
It was over 10 years ago that I saw it but I still remember now how absolutely awful it was!

cartagenagina · 21/03/2023 14:36

Agree about The Beach. Sooooo booooring.
And the horrible unlikeable characters that made up the shit show 500 Days of Summer. I also find Drive tedious and dull.

However, I LOVED Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

ChickenBurgers · 21/03/2023 14:40

Shark Boy and Lava Girl - still burned into my brain from my younger siblings. painful painful viewing, even by kids film/tv show standards. Give me Cocomelon or Peppa Pig any day.

Mama Mia - may be controversial and I really thought I’d like it cos I quite like ABBA, what a pile of crap that was.

isthismylifenow · 21/03/2023 14:49

I have read all the replies, but if course I'm coming in with The Room for the most ridiculous.

But my top vote for the very worst has to go to Mother!

isthismylifenow · 21/03/2023 14:50

Haven't read...

fishonabicycle · 21/03/2023 15:18

Forest Gump, The Irishman, Waterworld.

shadypines · 21/03/2023 16:02

Inherent Vice with Joaquin Phoenix. As boring as .... didn't have a bloody clue what was going on, I felt like I was on hard drugs never mind the characters. 😩

CherryKolaKubes · 21/03/2023 16:08

Mother
Men
I watched Men and still can’t believe I sat through it, was so dreadful I can’t believe any of the actors read the script and thought ‘This is good!’ Left me gutted I’d wasted a Friday night on it!

Iamblossom · 21/03/2023 16:20

The Meg
The Harry Hill Movie - ohmychrist, went to see this on Christmas Eve, what was I thinking, absolutely pile of shite

So many in fact - it's rare I see a film I think is any good these days....

Iamblossom · 21/03/2023 16:25

Ah yes Luther. Abject disappointment watching that last weekend.

Iamblossom · 21/03/2023 16:26

Although I did enjoy The Fall on Netflix - idiotic people, but incredible cinematography and even my feet were sweating

[misses point of thread entirely]

CruCru · 21/03/2023 16:48

I started watching the Northman a few weeks ago. Had to switch it off - both the main actors were miles too old for their roles (to the point of being stupid).

MushMonster · 21/03/2023 16:50

Annaconda and Spy Kids. If you never heard of thrm, you are lucky!
Only reason I sat through it was that I was at the cinema!

Embelline · 21/03/2023 16:52

There are so many 😂 agree with 27 dresses and titanic

I loathe all romantic films but the worst ever was ‘Leap Year’ which made me want to gouge my eyes out.

Embelline · 21/03/2023 17:02

I’m going to add Salt. Assassins taking instructions from a LOOM.

Embelline · 21/03/2023 17:03

@BigMandsTattooPortfolio apparently it made Matthew Goode who “stars” in it feel the same way - he did an interview a little while later saying he just did it for the pay check 😂

I liked the lake house Blush

Mine are Bridesmaids - what a load of over hyped shite, didn't laugh once, it was excruciatingly awful.
Also the female remake of Ghostbusters - had to turn it off.

Wasn't that Wanted?

We didn't even make it through the first half hour of Ghostbusters 2016, it was awful. Loved Afterlife though.

I'd say I'd put most reboots on the list as well, cash grabs over plot.

WhoAmIWhoAmI24601 · 21/03/2023 18:01

The first Star Wars now Star Wars IV
even at the age of 7 when it came out originally I thought it was crap. DH and the DC love them all and now the spin offs. Flogging a dead horse as far as I’m concerned.

RaraRachael · 21/03/2023 18:03

I also hated Bridesmaids and Dirty Dancing and any rom com tripe.
