What people can you remember being really popular at one point, and then seemed to drop out of existence?

Yes he did remarry, but I don't think he "breached his own child's privacy" to any concerning degree, though he did talk about the family impact when a mother dies a rapid death from leukaemia. Gemma had been unwell with flu-like symptoms, saw GP three times over 6 days, was admitted to hospital where she died 4 days later. Symptoms of leukaemia are not well known, and he's put effort into raising awareness as well as fund-raising.

David Essex was in Eastenders for a little while, but once he left that his another one who just disappeared !

Saw Whigfield perform at a butlins 90s weekend late 2021

She did about 3 songs and then was done. has had lots of work done clearly, given her age.

James Buckley? He’s done quite a bit recently, has written a book with his wife amongst a few other smallish things. He was on the Chris Moyles pubcast last year

Edith Bowman is presenting a 20 part programme on BBC1 Scotland called Food Fest Scotland with Colin Murray, her old Radio 1 co-host (who now lives here). It's fantastic.

Oh I didn't know that! I loved them together on Radio 1. Will look out for it.

It's only been through this thread that I've realised that when female celebrities go quiet, I think "Oh I wonder if she's had a child" whereas with male celebs I think "I wonder what he got caught doing"

Heather Mills is another one who's very quiet these days and for a while in the 00s she was in the media every five minutes. Looking back, the coverage of her was really quite misogynistic.

@SerafinasGoose Cameron Diaz retired to raise her daughter and start an organic wine business (really!) but I think I read somewhere recently that she's preparing to make an acting comeback.
