I spotted Anne Widdicombe on the news earlier this year talking about something. She has lost lots of weight , but looked well and as feisty as ever

Anne Widdicombe

Everyone's favourite Tory old biddicombe. Haven't seen hide nor hair of her for years.

I don't think that Caroline and Johannes did get on that well , but only what you read online. Have no idea how true any of it was.
It is one of the most grueling reality shows so no wonder really!

I thought Craig David has had a bit of resurgence in the last couple of years. Caroline Quinten was great as a batty aunt in the excellent comedy The Other One last year.

Sadly she came across pretty badly on Strictly. Was hoping for her to be great but it backfired rather, Bill Bailey had sewn up the "older comedy national treasure" slot, and she licked Johannes' arm in an ill-judged comedy moment which made everyone cringe.

Yes I must admit she didn’t come across very well on Strictly. I had always liked her prior to that. I think that’s the fascinating thing about the programme actually. You get to see another side of people.

Yes, Paul Young did some speaking event at a venue near me.

Paul Young - very popular mid to late 80s, in tabloids etc. Don't often play him on radio either.

Paul Young tours loads, just had a new album out I think also. He is also on a band called Los Pacaminos who are still gigging. He was also on one of the morning programmes recently, maybe Lorraine or something.

I haven’t RTFT either but I always wondered what happened to Debra Winger?

I sometimes wonder what happened to Julie Covington - Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson didn't disappear from performing in the same way

Apologies if this has already been responded to, I haven't read the whole thread, but Julie Covington didn't want the fame doing the stage show of Evita would bring so didn't do it after recording the soundtrack album.

Craig David took up bodybuilding, dj’s and seems fairly popular. He’s reinvented himself. I think the problem is that if you are “of” a time and don’t reinvent yourself or adapt, you get seen as just a part of that time.

Was it Selina Scott who interviewed Trump and when she rejected his advances, he said the most horrible things about her.

Yes he stalked her, even rung her up pretending to be someone else warning her it was in her interests not to reject him.

Ade Edmondson has written a play that's currently on in London.
Paul Whitehouse recently (ish) did Only Fools and Horses in the West End and is in Gone Fishing with Bob Mortimer.
Katie Puckrik has presented a few TV programmes about music/popular culture. She was also quite frequently on 6Music for a bit, but seems to have vanished now. Pity; I like her.

How about Craig David? His fame always baffled me as he only seemed to have one song, but he was ubiquitous and now seems to have disappeared.

I'm happy to hear about Edith B and Colin M's show; I love them together although I'm not crazy about her on her own (she's subbed for Simon Mayo on his film show with Mark Kermode in the past).

Yes but Nicole Kidman's face is unrecognisable but she is bankable.

I think she has been portrayed (as she lost her 'sex appeal' )as a little bit unhinged...perhaps Nicole was more in control of her career.

Also when she married AB it went downhill for her.

Meg Ryan is another one.

Selina Scott was just interviewed about giving the finger to some cosy 'Breakfast Time' reunion; about the misogyny she faced every day at work and what a creep Frank Bough was.

She wouldn't play ball or let herself be bullied, so they sidelined her.

I wanted to applaud her.

I was just thinking of Meg Ryan — honestly (and unpleasantly), her bankable appeal was her adorable scrunch-nosed gamine romcom heroine thing, and she aged, and also had a lot of facial work done to the point where she was barely recognisable, and no one would cast her. I know she tried to break out by doing darker roles like When A Man Loves A Woman and In the Cut, but it wasn’t wildly successful.

Though apparently she’s got a new romcom out this year with David Duchovny that she also directed.

I was just thinking about Caroline Quentin. She was everywhere in the 90s. Such a shame about Kiss Me Kate, she was brilliant. I love Jonathan Creek as well. She was such a 90s icon, caterpillar boots, short hair and mardy, I loved her. She has vanished!
