She’s an old lady but she needed to back out of public life anyway as her diet plan consisted of removing all fats which has subsequently been shown to be extremely bad for us.

She has been on my local radio station in the last couple of years plugging the same old diet.

Wasn’t he in the most recent series of Death in Paradise?

And a series called Whitstable Pearl.

Robert Webb did strictly , but he withdrew early
I think I'm right ? He was ill or something like that

He had life-threatening heart issues, needed open heart surgery, a few years ago. Doing Strictly proved a bit too strenuous.

Annika Rice

She's recorded a new series of Challenge Annika, starts next week!

Florenz · 19/03/2023 00:19

What about Denise Van Outen?

4intheCorner · 19/03/2023 00:23

Timmy Mallet I'd on Tiktok. Last year he did documented his journey cycling the coast of Britain.

Michael Barrymore is very active on Tiktok sharing clips from his shows. Great for a nostalgia trip and laughs 😃

Rustie Lee and Mr Motivator are on the same Caribbean cruise ship right now, working as entertainment for guests.

I have no interest at all in going on a cruise; BUT if I ever did, THIS would be the one for me, hands down!!

Does he include this gem, as showcased frequently on the Accidental Partridge Twitter account?!

I've just thought of another one; Johnny Vaughan.

Him from Big Breakfast. He was the "Dermot O'Leary" of his day.

I presume he's doing some radio presenting somewhere

Loved Johnny Vaughan and Denise Van Outen on the Big Breakfast. They had amazing chemistry. The fat yanks sketch had me in fits every time.

Sad to see they don’t get on nowadays (Johnny hogging the mike when they were on radio together I believe). He’s a very witty man.

Scrumbleton · 19/03/2023 01:28

Was thinking about Johnny Vaughan earlier

Penny Smith

She appears on a panel on TalkTV (the new channel where Piers Morgan now resides, as does Jeremy Kyle). She also appears on the paper review on Sky News from time to time.

There was an incredibly moving documentary on Slattery a while ago. He has had some kind of stroke, I believe, plus mental health problems. His partner has stood by him, however, and seems such a quiet, loving, loyal man that it brought tears to my eyes. Half way through, Slattery revealed that he’d been raped as a child. Even his partner didn’t know. God, it was a gut-wrenching piece of television.

That was an incredible documentary. I think TS was diagnosed with bi-polar and his partner has stuck by him. A true love story. You could still see flashes of the funny comedian emerge through the obvious pain. Really touching.

On a more mundane note, I wonder what happened to Kathy Taylor athlete turned ITV morning presenter? I always remember her being very pregnant on set and one of her co-presenters saying “we are looking forward to meeting the ITN baby” and she turning around and saying “it’s not the ITN baby it’s my baby thank you very much”. It just stuck in my mind because she was normally so even tempered and easy going.

I used to like Penny Smith!

Another name that springs to mind from that era is Tania Bryer.

Estate agent in USA apparently

AnyaMarx · 19/03/2023 02:15

My nephew met konnie huq and said she was very aloof

I spoke to her hubby on here some years ago on a web chat and he was lovely .
But I always liked him and his shows .
Charlie Brooker . He was very nice to me on the web chat !

Whitewolf2 · 19/03/2023 03:43

Dean Cain and Tom Welling.
Both very famous for years for playing superman, then never really heard of since. Guess sometimes they can’t get another series, or need a break after intense years of filming.

Funnily enough I was thinking about this the other day.

It was Lauryn Hill, I was thinking of.

Lauryn Hill was huge in the 90s, with things like Sister Act 2 and Fugees etc.
She's a fabulous singer/rapper.

I'm sure I read somewhere she went to priding for Tax Evasion and decided to take a step back from fame.

I saw her live around 4 years ago in London. She still does the odd thing.

Holly Valance

Delta Goodram is still big in Australia. She had cancer which is why she stepped back a bit.

Holly Valance is married to one of the Candy brothers so I imagine is living a very wealthy lifestyle raising her children.
